What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Assistant?:
I've done a lot of combat roles, but I've always found it much more soothing to simply put my weapons away, write some documents and do day to day tasks. I love work that requires me to engage with people in certain ways, talk to people and to simply observe. Not to mention, while I loved my leadership roles, I also loved the simplicity of being told what to do, and then doing it; so I'm also very easy to simply give an order that I will then fulfil, which I think is a good trait to have when working for the committee
Other than that, I'm good at writing documents, or, at least I think so myself. I've done a multitude of them back in 2024, and I do my best to live into the role of my character, imagining their tone, demeanour and personality when writing reports and stuff
I also have CL4 experience from my time in DEA

What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee in RP?:
- Providing hands-on support to the Ethics Committee
- Aiding the EC in overseeing the site. specifically observing departmental conduct and their ethical standpoints when conducting research, experiments, operations, interrogations and more
- Preventing information breaches and investigating them accordingly
- Working together with O-1 and their operations if it seems fitting
- Authorising AA in case there is no higher ranked on site during containment breaches
- Providing a direct link from the committee to the rest of the site
- Reviewing people of interest and investigating them if ordered by the committee just to name a few
- Providing an committee with documentation, reports and evidence of unethical treatment of humans, SCPs and everything in between
- Support various departments in investigations, if asked to do so
- Answer questions about the Ethics Committee, to anyone who may be curious (within the boundaries of what is permitted to tell of course)
Why do you wish to become an Ethics Committee Assistant?:
The primary reason for my application is because I love the "higher up" roleplay. It provides a bit more in terms of RP, than let's say... GSD or Research does (in some cases). I also hope it will improve my RP capabilities, both in creating them and in responding to them. Overall, the whole O5/EC gameplay has always intrigued me.
I also finally wish for a non-combat focused role for once, as I have not had the chance to play those yet.
I want to "sit back", write documents, conduct investigations, do the bidding of EC and simply have a good time, making it fun for everyone involved

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Lanny Kolbrin, previously Carl Mannington started his work at the foundation 7 years ago, when he was given the opportunity by a foundation personnel who had been inserted to the Police station's investigation department he worked as previously.
Being the Chief Investigator at [REDACTED], he had already earned himself quite the reputation, not for solving murders, but for his uncanny ability to unravel cases others had abandoned. Missing people with no remains, crime scenes that contradicted physics, suspects who ceased to exist type of stuff.
Carl had been investigating cases later classified as anomalous by the foundation, without his knowledge... Evidence being altered, suspected recanted, and in some cases, jurisdiction was removed from his authority without questions asked...
But rather than giving up, accepting the way of things, Carl began documenting every discrepancy... Timestamps that didn't match, forensic reports being altered, and sealed orders by agencies that technically didn't exist...
He didn't do it out of curiosity of whatever abnormal events was happening, but instead for concern... For due process, accountability and unchecked human authority
This drew the attention of the SCP-Foundation. The persistence of someone who would not give up, even in the face of every possible defeat
During what Carl thought to be a usual inter-agency briefing, Carl was detained, debriefed and presented with a simple choice of his own choosing.... Amnestic treatment and reassignment, or recruitment within the Foundation itself
Following psychological evaluation and clearance vetting, Carl was given the new identity of Lanny Kolbrin, an identity he chose himself to honor his late best friend; Danny Colibri...
He was initially hired within the internal security department. And unlike many recruits, Lanny was quick to accept the work of the foundation... not out fear, but because he understood the necessity of the place. He had already seen what could happen in the real world, if they were left unchecked
Over time, Lanny was asked to assist the Ethics Committee assistants in cases where internal misconduct bordered with moral and operational concerns...
Lanny's reports had a focus on long-term consequences... Normalization of cruelty, decision making patterns that increased risk rather than decreasing it, and staff burnout from such actions, that some did gladly, while others were forced into.
His tasks gained the attention of the higher ups... He could be trusted to report the uncomfortable truths, without agenda.
Following site - wide reviews and at least 1 major incident at Site-65, Lanny was offered a position within the people he had already been working close with. The Ethics Committee Assistants
