Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
I believe I can contribute meaningfully to ongoing and future RSD roleplay and hope that the creativity and ingenuity that I can bring to the table supports this; I think that my recent contributions to the research department as a researcher have proven meaningful and the feedback and grading in regards to my documents supports this. I enjoy writing documents these and challenging myself to think of new research scenarios and I'm interested to open up new avenues within RSD as a CL4 researcher, as this would allow me access to new SCPs.
-What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
I'm an avid roleplayer with a strong grasp on both the lore of the server and the lore of the SCP world in general. I enjoy writing the required documents for RSD including getting permission (i.e., from an executive or the DoR) for tests, ethics approval, and the research studies themselves. As stated, I enjoy finding new areas of study and exploring new avenues within older areas; I enjoy collaborating with other researchers on projects and believe that larger projects requiring multiple members of RSD and/or other departments make for the most enjoyable RSD roleplay and I would enjoy being able to pursue larger collaborative projects. In my latest document involving SCP-049 I sought out to include as many applicable departments as possible, involving the Ethics Committee, two Executive Researchers, E-11 CO's, and GSD, and with the feedback given by multiple executive researchers I believe I'd be willing to delve further into RSD and perform studies at a higher level than I am currently able to. Additionally, I have contributed meaningfully towards an upcoming subdepartment within RSD in collaboration with other Executive Researchers, and I am hoping that, with the role of Executive Researcher, I can properly lead this subdepartment with the current DoR.
-How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?:
Three. An excellent document requires multiple facets to be considered excellent, some of those being:
- Format. A well formatted document makes it easy to read, easier to understand, and much more pleasing to look at. Even using the RSD template can boost a poor document to a 'good' or 'average' document. Images and additional sections make for an excellent document.
- Length and detail. The length of a document isn't as important, as sometimes there simply isn't enough content to the test given, but the detail and the measures taken to ensure that the test is reproducible and thorough are paramount to ensuring an excellent rated document.
- Content. The content of the document is also very important. An excellent document should be concise and stay on topic, and it should explore multiple avenues within the area of study.
- Lastly, legibility. The document must be readable, have good grammar, and overall be well-put, structured, grammatically correct and be more complex than the average document.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:The responsibilities of an executive researcher is first and foremost to create new and build upon current roleplay; creating new roleplay within RSD and exploring new aspects of old SCPs and thoroughly documenting new SCPs brought about the content creation team or via GMs. Additionally, executive researchers are expected to properly grade documents, train and educate new researchers, provide well-thought and constructive feedback on documents, and oversee tests by subordinate researchers. Executive researchers are also expected to lead, showing example to other researchers on how to properly conduct themselves and how to create roleplay.
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Toaste Woofleson, formerly Dr. "Calloway" of Queen's University, very formerly D-3621 of Site-43, and currently Researcher Toaste "Calloway" W., a new transfer in the research department from Site-43, renowned for his work in the eccentric containment methods employed there, was brought to Site-65 to aide in the containment of a new, strange cognitohazard, not yet properly evaluated by RSD. Regardless of his adept skills in containment, Toaste was undoubtedly involved in a containment breach of this SCP during his efforts to find a working solution; being exposed to the cognitohazard for a few short moments before the SCP was returned to containment. The changes that Toaste underwent upon exposure weren't quite revealed for quite a while, but it was clear that something as changed as his previously 'above average' performance rating skyrocketed much above that of even senior researchers, a newfound burning passion in even the most mundane of tests aiding Toaste in his goal to quickly climb the ranks. One evening, after Toaste had completed a particularly senior research project involving an SCP above his clearance, he was approached by the acting DoR. He was fearful, at first, a mere researcher dragged into a meeting with the Director of Research and some men in slick, black suits, but as the nature of the meeting was explained to him, he realized his efforts were finally being recognized. At the end of the meeting, and with a handshake, the Director slid across the table a small document, and bright, red keycard with his name on it.
