SCP-RP USA

Do you have a mic?:
Yes

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
Medical Consultant

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: On my Consultant application I said that I did not, but after getting accepted I was informed of the command we can use to check our warnings and discovered that I do in fact have 3 warnings from 2022 for ARDM, Toxicity, and ERP. I can only imagine that these were from when I first joined the server and grossly misunderstood D-Class RP, but it was 3 years ago so I can't say for sure what those are for. Otherwise, I have not been warned, kicked, or banned.

Why are you applying for the Director of Medicine?:
I have a very strong passion for the Medical Department. In all my time on this server, I have nearly exclusively played Medical in some capacity. I've seen how the department has grown and changed over the years and I've always been fascinated with its growth. I've seen how different Directors have run the department and I believe that I have some good ideas to help stimulate the department and encourage some good quality RP. Tony has done some incredible work with the department in his short time as DoM and I believe as a fellow DoM I could help him bring the department to a new level.

If I were to be accepted as DoM, I would try to create more opportunities for the lower ranks of Medical to do RP other than just click-healing and doing psych evals. We don't really have an active roster of Senior Doctors, as most people who flag up to it are either a.) just temporarily playing it or b.) just using it as a stepping stone to climb the ladder to Consultant. There is a noticeable divide between the Medical Leadership Team and the rest of the department, and I'd explore new ways to reconnect them. I would create new Medical Projects with the aim of giving Senior Doctors the ability to work closely with the Consultants and to give them some meaningful work that they could sign their names on. These projects would allow the Medical Leadership Team to learn more about our Senior Doctors and it would allow our Senior Doctors to have a meaningful impact on the department. This can be further supplemented with increased incentive programs and public recognition for exceptional work.

What makes you suitable for Director of Medicine?:
I'm a rational person with an ambition to see the department grow and succeed. When I became a Consultant, I found myself choosing to either sit back and enjoy having a CL4 position or to keep pushing and utilize the position to further grow the department. The decision was clear and since then I've used my position to try to expand the Medical Department's presence across the server via external relations. I've developed lots of professional relationships across different departments that I believe would help me as DoM to stimulate activity within and outside of my department.

Ultimately, I believe I'm a good candidate for DoM because I enjoy the server most when others around me are having fun. I try to foster an environment where players don't feel like playing the server is a job, but rather a fun experience that they would want to continue. I strongly believe that the best RP doesn't come from forced duties and roles, but rather encouraged character development and genuine interpersonal experiences.

What are the responsibilities of the Director of Medicine in RP?:
The primary responsibility of the DoM in RP is the complete oversight of the Medical Department. The Director is expected to be intimately involved with every function of the department and is expected to find improvements to help the department run more efficiently and grow. Specific duties include hiring and training new Consultants to run the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring the health of the department by making changes to encourage activity, and evaluating the department to increase efficiency. The Director is expected to be an authority over anything medical both in and out of the department and is expected to be the face of the department. The DoM is also expected to represent the department when working with other departmental leaders/SA/SC and should always have the best interests in mind for the department and Site-65 as a whole.

Please give some lore about your Director of Medicine character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Dr. Brenjamin Asparagus doesn't have an exceptionally notable upbringing. He developed a passion for medicine after losing his father to an incurable form of cancer at a young age and made it his life's purpose to improve the field and treat as many people as he could. After graduating from John Hopkins School of Medicine, he found himself primarily focusing on epidemiology and quickly landed a job at the CDC working on disaster response programs. He made a name for himself in the anomalous world for his work on several epidemic cases which, although unknown to Brenjamin, were anomalous in nature. The Foundation in particular were interested in him for his quick adaptability to the unknown and his calm demeanor in the face of existential danger. He was recruited to the Foundation shortly after and assigned to work in the Medical Department at Site-65. It was there that Brenjamin found a world of problems that needed solutions and it was there that Brenjamin found his life's true purpose. The adaptability and cool demeanor that attracted the Foundation to him in the first place allowed Brenjamin to quickly move up the ranks of the Medical Department, working along the way to both improve treatment protocols and improve the efficiency of the department as a whole.

As a doctor at Site-65, Brenjamin had to come up with creative solutions to impossible problems daily. From coordinating triage and quarantine efforts for unknown infectious diseases to conducting surgeries on barely organic cyborgs and completely dismembered personnel, he thought he had seen it all. It wasn't until he was elevated to the Clearance Level 4 position of Medical Consultant that Brenjamin truly understood the horrors he would have to confront within the Foundation.

This isn't a request, Director. You're going to tell me what you made me forget.

I didn't make you forget anything, Brenjamin. You chose to undergo the elective amnestic protocol. Why are you digging into this now of all times?

I saw the access logs. I accessed the Incident-███████ file last month. Something in it made me request a wipe. Again. I don't remember it now, of course, but I woke up at my desk the next day with "REMEMBER PATIENT 310" scrawled on my notebook. My handwriting.

Shit. We agreed that it was in your best interest to not remember the details of that incident.

Then why do I keep leaving myself breadcrumbs? What details am I trying not to forget?

*A deep sigh is heard*

You saved the site. If you hadn't initiated quarantine protocol when you did, the whole site would have been infected. Why can't you leave it at that?

Because I looked at the security logs. Why wasn't a containment protocol established? What was the request I made to Ethics? Who the hell is Patient 310?

Fine, but if I tell you now, I'm not approving another wipe. You're going to have to come to terms with it on your own.

I don't care. Clearly my gut remembers what my mind doesn't. Wiping my memory of whatever happened isn't shaking this feeling of guilt and dread. What happened during Incident-███████?
