I have a clean record at this time.
-
What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
I am applying for the role of Ethics Committee member. I feel like with the amount of experience that I have and how much I am on the server; I could offer a great deal of help and knowledge to the committee as a whole.
-
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
Personally, I may not be the best candidate for the position, but I am a very active individual within the server. I have a veritable wealth of knowledge of Clearance Level Four issues from being an Ambassador and the Deputy Director of Intelligence and would be able to apply that effectively if I am chosen for the position. I also possess a great skill with the in-game document system but overall I am an open, friendly, and kind person to have about.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
The responsibilities of the Ethics Committee are to uphold the code of ethics and to ensure every department is following them. To reprimand and work with members of the foundation who break the Code of Ethics and or the Code of conduct. To speak with researchers and stop any wildly dangerous testing that could cause a containment breach or to approve advantageous testing that may not normally occur. To keep the Site running as effectively and as safely as possible.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g., what applications do they handle?):
They handle and offer feedback on the applications for:
Internal Affairs
Ethics Assistants
Site Affairs

“Jullian. What do you want to do with your life?”
Jules sat there as the guidance counselor stared down at him, lights glaring off her thick rimmed glasses. The ticking of a clock echoed throughout the room before he spoke. “I don’t know.. My mother is pushing me to go into scientific pursuits like biology but that isn’t really my thing.” he sighed and fixed his glasses. “And Torri is already doing that.. He got a scholarship to MIT for fucks sake.”
“Language Jullian.”
“Miss Windgate, please call me Jules. Saying Jullian sounds like I am in trouble.” he said with a chuckle, wishing to just disappear in the moment.
“It is a very serious matter, young man. If you don’t decide then you might end up nowhere in life and become nothing.”
“I mean.. I want to keep swimming.. Maybe move onto a collegiate level.”
“And where will you go from there?” she said, bringing a book out and setting it on the table.Shaking her head. “Sports will only last you so long in life. You have a sharp mind and you should apply it somewhere.”
He zoned out from the rest of the conversation as time passed..
Indecision racked his mind as he entered his room, dropping his bag to the floor. The idea of so many choices surrounding him hurt his head. Why did he need to choose a future now? Why can’t he choose what he wanted to do? Shaking his head he grabbed a gym bag and walked out. Heading to one place he could find mental solace. The water.
The walk was long and familiar as he normally walked it everyday. It always worked to clear his head, no matter the weather. The sidewalk was rough and the roads quiet as he arrived at the local pool. His one solace for the time being, a place where time and worry seemed to melt away. No choices and everything was simple.
Jules had just gotten out of school for the day as a man approached him, he stood tall in a dark blue uniform. “So you are the captain of the swim team, eh? I’m Sergeant Maxwell. I’m curious.. Do you have any plans for when you leave school?” he extended his hand out for a hand shake.
Jules would take it, nodding his head. “Eh not really.”
“Well.. Might I suggest something..?”
Jules and the naval recruiter spoke for hours.. The recruiter was a warm man compared to the cold guidance counselor. He left with a decision in mind.

It had been awhile since he had joined the Royal Navy as he was settled on a ship, looking off at the waves as they crashed along the hull. It was a serene sight to him now as the rocking of the ship felt natural to him. They had been at sea for a few days at this point and maybe had another four till they could return home. It was supposed to be a simple voyage.
Until they had witnessed what appeared to be a battleship rising on the horizon, seemingly straight from the waters itself. It was old and damaged, like it had existed decades under the sea itself. Jules watched from one of the monitors with interest as it reminded him of something he had seen from a history book. Almost like the Bismark…
In the instant that it appeared it seemed to fire on something in the distance, showing little to no mercy on the poor souls that it chose as a target. The cannon fire rang heavy in the air as each shot struck. They had to act fast for the safety of the other vessel. An order rang out above as the call for everyone to get to their stations. Everything felt tense.
They soon approached as they witnessed a freighter was being hailed with munitions and looked like it was on its last leg.
BOOM
They opened fire on the Bismark, striking the hull. Soon they would rain hell on the vintage warship and peppered it over and over again, not allowing it a single moment of respite in the situation. Soon another Navy ship would join in on the strike sending the Bismark down under the waters below.. For the moment it seemed safe.
No one understood what had occurred in the last hour of time, whispers about the Bismark or as they just said. “That old ship.” Filled the air around. The Captain seemed to depart, walking off to speak to someone privately. Jules took a deep breath and kept quiet as he looked at a nearby radar, watching the blip of the screen. He didn’t think much about the situation as it would fade to the back of his memories.
It had been a few years after the incident with the Bismark, Jules stood in an airport waiting for someone. The bag on his back felt heavy as he walked outside, the Canadian cold greeting him with a chill down his spine.
“Julie!” A femine voice rang out.
“Jules!” A male voice followed.
In an instant Jules was pulled into a hug by a shorter woman and then soon by his longer haired doppelganger. He had just arrived in Saskatchewan Canada and met up with his twin and his newly married wife Maya. It was a warm reunion to be sure as they laughed and spoke amongst each other.
“So you left the sea life? It suited you well.” Torian spoke with a smirk. The three of them crammed into a small Volvo.
“Well Torri.. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted.. I learned a lot but maybe I should have listened and gone to a Uni.” Jules said pausing to fix his glasses
“And you finally decided to take me up on that application offer?.. Private security is hard work but you should be fine. I work in the research field here so I’ll be able to harass you whenever.” Torian said with a devious grin.
“Oh please! Torrian, you couldn’t bother a fly.” Maya chimed in.
Jules soon sat on his laptop, filling something out. The name of the company seemed to be blanked out but it was a standard job application nonetheless and Torian seemed to work for the place.. Nothing could go wrong..?
It didn’t take long before he received a call back, speaking to a man over the phone. They discussed an interview time and soon an orientation date was scheduled. He was offered a job within General Security.

Jules stood in D-block watching the same in and out process of D-Class being escorted and returned, idly waiting till he could leave for the day. It was slow but the pay was decent enough to support himself. Other then the riots it was easy.
“Hey Cadet.” a nasally New Zealand voice called out. A man in a red and black suit called out with a smile and a wave.
Jules waved back. “Hello Sir. Do you need something?”
“Uh yes. I see you here quite often. You do your job. You thinkin of staying as a Gensec?”
Jules eyed the man down and thought, lifting his visor up so he could see clearer. He could only assume the man was an Agent of some kind.. Not like the ones in blue that seems to yell at everyone about the Code of Conduct or Ethics but maybe from another department. Taking a moment to respond. “I was considering MTF if they ever opened up to tryouts.. Maybe medical if that doesn’t work out.. Why?”
“What if I told you of another department that could use a man like you?”
It was in that moment where Jules would meet his mentor Gypsy as the two would speak for hours. Cutting up and laughing about situations within and around the site. It gave Jules an insight on the area around the Facility and he was hooked by the man's words.
Eventually Jules would get to drop the Cadet gear away as he donned a black suit and red tie, making sure the body armor was well fitted. Meeting many faces like Director John Marley, Henry Sloeman, and a few others around the Department of Intelligence. He spent the first few days learning all that he could, speaking to Gypsy about documents quite often and soon putting in the work and running reconnaissance missions around Pinewood. His hard work seemingly did not go unnoticed as soon Pothead approached him about taking a higher position as one of his ambassadors and eventually was asked to take over as the Deputy director of the Department. Pushing himself more and more with each step taken.
Jules had always kept to himself when he was younger but somehow he seemed to click when he ran into an Internal Affairs ambassador named Dalton Bruno, the two chatting for long periods of time. Eventually the two would befriend a Researcher named Osoro Mutekin and the three became fast drinking buddies. Often leaving the site to get a few beers and sing their hearts out at a karaoke bar a town over. Those nights became quick and fond memories.
Around the site Jules became a familiar face around the foundation as he often was zipping about from the Intelligence offices to surface and back around to LCZ, always making himself available to all that needed him. Meeting agents like “Spooky”, Doofster, and Canoon and forming a close work bond with the three… Even having Doofster throw an impromptu birthday party for the Director.

Jules stood alone for a moment, taking a deep breath, looking down at his phone. Normally he’d have messages for bar night by now but none had come through. He could only sigh for the time being as his friends had seemingly moved up in the world.
“Fuck.” was the only word he could say as he stepped into the personnel wing, his shoes clicking on the ground. His mind was not on the world around him as he looked at his phone, checking the time. Would going to the bar alone look pathetic? Dalton and Gypsy were busy with the Committee and Osoro was never around since getting Assistant. He pondered his phone again as he shot a text to someone.
Life settled into a small routine of work, drink, sleep and it quickly grew monotonous the longer it went on. Keeping a straight face when talking to people wasn’t hard as he exaggerated his emotions but it was only alone in his office that he sat in the quiet. Soon the paperwork he normally kept piled up in front of him in small heaps, often being set aside to just sit and watch the clock on the wall. He was getting sloppy and he started to hate it.
Jules found himself sitting in the entrance zone one long shift, getting coffee from 294 to try and perk himself up as Gypsy approached him.
“Long time no see Jules. Hows Intelligence since I left?”
“It’s alright. Got to reign in a few agents.” He lied. He was tired of it. “I hired a few Ambassadors in John’s absence. How Ethics treating you Damo?”
“It’s good! Not too much of a change but it is busy work. We however don’t have enough Assistants helping out.”
“Really now?” Jules thought for a selfish moment. “Are the applications open at the time?”
“Thinking about applying? Yeah they should be.”
They caught up in the moment as a plan formulated in the back of his head.. Sure he would be giving up his position in Intelligence but a change would be good, right? It didn’t take long as he sat in front of his laptop filling out the forum and submitting the application. It didn’t seem long before he found himself speaking with House about the Job offer and being given access to floor three as an assistant.
Adjusting to the role wasn’t hard as it was more of the same as what he was doing in intelligence except he didn’t need to run to the surface.. Instead he found himself watching D-Block like a cafeteria room monitor, scribbling on his clipboard everytime he watched something happen. It almost brought him back to when he was a Cadet but this time he held some kind of power compared to then but it wasn’t negative as he watched how when things were carried out everything went smoothly.
A bit of positivity sparked in his brain as he helped each person, finding himself talking D-Class more often then some personnel. It was the change he was looking for at the time and it felt great. The only downside was having to be bombarded by Researchers about their.. Less then savory tests that they wanted to perform. It was honest work in a sense and it enticed him.
It motivated him in the moment.
