-
Why are you applying for Security Chief?
I believe I can make a meaningful and positive impact on both GENSEC staff and the site as a whole. Site stability should always be the top priority, as it directly affects every department’s ability to function effectively—especially given the division’s recent instability. I see myself as a steady and reliable presence who can help restore structure, confidence, and consistency within GENSEC. With nearly two years as Captain and around a year as Senior, I bring extensive experience and long-term CL4-level insight, giving me a deeper understanding of the department and its needs compared to many others in similar roles.
-
What makes you suitable for Security Chief?:
I see myself as a level-headed person who tries to handle situations fairly and keep things cordial for everyone involved. I like to say I stay active in the server and make an effort to be available whenever people need help, (mainly due to the fact that I understand what it means to be a new player and how it can seem daunting at times) which has helped me become someone others feel comfortable approaching. I’ve also taken on leadership roles by running TEGA and G&I, which I’ve since combined into the T&G site to make things more streamlined and effective. On top of that, I’ve been leading department training for at least six months—first under TEGA and now under T&G where I’ve helped bring in new members, build their confidence, and keep standards consistent across the department.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Security Chief in RP?: I would describe the role of Security Chief in a few key ways. Primarily, it serves as the face of the department, responsible for maintaining professionalism and ensuring effective interdepartmental relations. The position also requires a willingness to collaborate across departments, prioritizing cooperation over personal conflicts or pettiness. Above all, the focus remains on the common goal: maintaining site stability, operational efficiency, and a unified approach to security across all departments.
-
Please give some lore about your Security Chief character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Chief of Security Abner “Oldwood” is a grizzled veteran of both naval service and Foundation security operations. Formerly a naval security officer with over two decades of shipboard experience, he earned his nickname from junior sailors who said he was “as stubborn and unyielding as aged timber.” The name endured—and over time became a mark of quiet respect rather than mockery. Oldwood was later recruited into the Foundation following his involvement in a classified maritime incident involving the unexplained disappearance of an entire research vessel under anomalous conditions. He was the only individual who refused to break under extended interrogation. That resilience, discipline, and refusal to yield under pressure earned him an offer into Foundation service. Through years of service within GENSEC, Oldwood rose steadily through the ranks, eventually commanding the security department at Site-65. His performance and operational control during multiple containment crises led to his promotion to Chief of Security, placing him at the Head of the Department of Security.
