Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
> I have received 4:
-> Sunday January 7th 2024 - Inappropriate Misconduct (I can't provide an explanation for this one, I have forgotten, sorry.)
-> Sunday February 11th 2024 - FailRP (If I remember correctly this was due to me messing around right before server restart, as I thought it would be okay. Which is also another dumb reason for me to get a warning. That I could've easily avoided.)
-> Friday July 26th 2024 - ERP (This was a really dumb one I could've easily not gotten. And looking back on it, I see that I shouldn't have said anything.)
-> Apr 18, 2025 - FailRP (I have applied to get this removed in the past, which it will not be, and I think that it should; still though I do see why it isn’t. I helped to “breach” 008, in reality it was an unauthorised test that I was forced to do under FearRP situations.)

Why are you applying for Director of Research?
I'm applying in such short time due to the disappearance of a DoR, now I've previously applied for this role and was denied for it last time. As previously stated about my love for Research, I also believe that Research needs some reform; which will go hand-in-hand with my new character, Desmond A. Ersatz, to push for more roleplay reasons and events around the site.
I believe current health within RSD is of constant backlash between Research and Research Command, of which causes decline in community health that requires to be fixed through communication, cohesion, and compromise. I have instances of Researchers approaching me with complaints about another department's decision that impacts Research operations as a result of our current leaderships negligence to address open-ended policies that are incoherent, and poor judgement & implementations regarding leadership & departmental guidelines. Due to my personal opinion listed, I aspire for the chance to be appointed as the second Director of Research to improve & maintain overall Research affairs, procedures and guidelines alongside the current Director.
Since previously I didn't fully state what 'kinks' I wanted to fix here they are:

  • Training videos for the Junior Researchers (These tapes will be simplified versions of what is expected of you within the site and how you can do your job. It will include the very simplistic things in the department that all Jr Researchers will do, moving up to more complex ideas that isn't taught normally (such as defining cognitohazards, memetics, etc. In easy to understand ways). These training videos will be short 3-5 minute long clips, using in-game footage recorded in roleplay situations - allowing for people to take part of the recording of these videos, leaving a mark in the community.
  • Since many Researchers aren't in the discord, there needs to be something that we can use to push out updates to them; such as a board within the department that is eye-catching enough to where they will read a short sentence on what has been updated (this allows us to easily tell the people not in the discord that policies have been changed, and they need to check).
  • Building off of the previous point of many not being in the discord/not caring to be in the discord, we can change one of our many filing cabinets that we have in their bunks to something where they can put a document of suggestions in. (Yes I understand that the usage of this may be very little, but for those who actually care to do so, they can)
  • Trying to push out things that will keep Research in an exciting light, due to the fact that recent changes within it have sparked discussion of hate, I wish to try and right this through adding positives so that people won't be only thinking of the negatives.
  • The reversion of testing during emergency codes.
-> Previous policies that were in place, allowed for testing during code ones, code fours and code fives. Current policies in place, disallow for the continuation of testing procedures which goes against what Research stands for. I plan on reversing this policy to the previous version, which would allow testing to continue during code ones and allow testing to continue in LCZ during code fives and four. Thus encouraging researchers to continue testing procedures throughout the site and promote departmental growth, activity, and wellbeing.
  • The addition of GOI communication policies.
-> Current policies do not allow Research to exactly have a say within cross-faction testing (though we do off-site, which doesn't make sense). This is vital for Research Leadership to posses the ability to be more involved in the approval and set-up of cross-faction projects with opposing R&D departments. This will create more opportunities for junior personnel to be included within more immersive & refreshing environments that foster more in-depth roleplay, and encourage new, creative outlooks on testing that can carry over to onsite testing with current SCPs.
  • Stop the abuse of the level 3 Research card, by this I mean many CL3 Researchers use it to minge and not create valuable roleplay experiences.
  • With the current complaints of CRB and it's hate that comes with the limitations brought on by CRB's policies, I wish to right this and not have it as a way to limit roleplay experience or be a way to force people to confide to specific ways, but rather to assist in experiences in the community. As of right now, I believe CRB isn't benefiting all too much as it is fighting against other departments rather than coincide with them, causing altercations of opinion which we don't need. Yes I know CRB can bring good things if it's done well, but I don't believe that the policies that are being pushed are healthy to the community.

What makes you suitable for Director of Research?:
"I believe I am suitable for this position as, even though I have experience as an Executive Researcher, I want to push further and step outside of my comfort zone. To assist people and create long-lasting impacts on the community. I think I’m suitable for this role as I feel as though I am helpful, easy-to-approach and talk to, motivated, and I believe I have the power to shape & mould new and interesting things within the foundation's Research department. I believe that I can make a lasting impact (a good one, I hope) that will be used for the betterment of peoples' experiences."

Above is what I had previously stated within my old application for this role, which I still do believe is true and I can stick to that. However after thought I think that I would be an even better fit due to the fact I believe that I come up with unique ideas that can bring betterments to the community. I also have garnered a wider range of experience since last time which I shall use to push Research to be a stronger department. I decide to take my role seriously within the department and don't wish to ruin things within it, causing me to strive to provide support and assist the overall health of this community. Furthermore, previous Dpt. Directors have just had a singular person make all decisions and have a 'Yes-man' with him on his side, rather I believe that there shouldn't be a person always going with another's ideas; meaning If I were to become DoR, I won't be that 'Yes-man' accepting the other DoR's ideas all the time, but rather challenge their views so that Research gets to grow with both DoRs shaping RSD and not just one 'mastermind'. DoRs need to argue their points between one another and understand the flaws each other has, to push for healthier departmental fixes. If I were to become DoR I would purposefully challenge those with differing opinions so that a medium can be reached, causing healthier and more-accepting ideas to be pushed out that departmental members will agree with. Furthermore, sometimes changes are not exactly stated to have come out publicly - of which I dislike as I prefer to have a coherent line of communication between departments and personnel - which is what I will push out so that we can have this communication in place so altercations do not happen in the future. An example of fixing this communication, is to create simpler, clear notes on policies and what they mean instead of leaving out information that is open to interpretation rather than being clear and concise with restrictions. This is in reference to testing & sampling restriction boards that are located within RSD and HCZ checkpoints, these are over-simplified which can cause confusion and create environments that encourage departmental conflict rather than cohesion and guidelines that many can understand that support departmental relations.

What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?:
"I have read over the guidelines and here is what I picked out as the most important:
  • Appoint and manage CL4 positions
  • Maintenance of the Department (Policies, Rosters, Documentation, Cross-departmental relations,)
  • Engaging with the Department
  • Create improvements within the Department
Though I will add onto these with my own ideas:
  • Create opportunities for people to thrive within the Department (Ease of Access/Quality of Life)
  • Making the Department be accessible to everyone wanting to be apart of Research
  • Make sure to stay professional, as not only are you a role model for Cl1-Cl3s, but you are now a role model to RSD Junior Cl4 positions (Being firm-but-fair and respectful)"
  • To encourage roleplay between Junior personnel and provide further opportunities for growth within the department, and set new baseline standards for the department (Events, tests, general RP experience, etc.)
  • To delegate critical & vital tasks to Junior Research Leadership to prepare them for taking a senior-level role in the future and be more hands-on within the department (To create an environment for all researchers to thrive in)
  • To understand Researcher's disputes on departmental policies (An important responsibility, as I believe that one person cannot shape the department alone without the input from those he is leading, this creates the sense of a Director who listens and understands his departmental personnel, assisting in the creation of improvements within the department)
  • To provide clear, concise, and timely reports on the state & affairs of the department to Site Administration (So that Site Command is also aware of the current department standing)

Please give some lore about your Director of Research character and what storylines they would be involved in:
The transfer of Dr. Desmond Ansel Ersatz
    "Ahem,
Hello there Site-65 Research Leadership team. I am Dr. Desmond Ansel Ersatz, transferring from another site. I would like you all to be quiet unless directly asked a question of which I would like to have an answer to. To begin with, as a way for you to judge my character, I will give you a short run-down of how I used to manage the previous site I came from; Now I don't know how you guys manage this site, but in the site that I'm coming from we kept it strictly professional - due to... Circumstances. I try to not make friends with those who are below my rank, nor do I try to be exactly warm towards others; which will include you all, though that will not stop me from talking with you, this is so that we can remain in a reliable and professional environment. And to prevent... Ahem, I will be strict on those needed, I will be harsh with punishments, I will not tolerate abusing the system, I will bring reform to how these Researchers treat this place, and most definitely I will not be nice, or kind, or merciful to anyone not deserving. I hope you all do get a general grasp of what I will do, and my overall character. And now that you know how I had previously worked, let us move onto why I was called in.

As it has been told to me by my superiors, your Researchers here are as she said, "troublemakers".
Does that sound right to you?
    ........
Well then, I've been sent to find the source of this behaviour and crush it like a child's dreams of becoming a superhero. I've heard rumours that these Researchers, such as the ones that blatantly ignore the legal codex that we have in place, or ones that on purpose release the Disposable-Class personnel that are here, or even worse, purposefully causing containment breaches...
You know that's another thing I have heard about this site, the amount of damn containment breaches.

Now then any questions that you all have for me?
    ........

Now from this point forward, I expect each of you to uphold a higher standard, not just for yourselves, but for the teams you oversee. I will be observing. I will be suggesting "corrections". Let this be the beginning of a necessary change, not just a new chapter. And to you Dpt. Directors, I hope that you'll be reliable yourselves. That is all, I will take my leave, and if you need me then I will be around."
