Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?:

I am applying for the role for several reasons. I want to contribute in aiding the research department and encourage roleplay among fellow researchers. Not to say the department is lacking in the latter, there are plenty of researchers committed to bringing about quality experiences for their tests and interactions in general. What I want to do is provide more opportunities for others to exercise their creativity, especially during downtime hours when I'm most active and others are unavailable.

What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:

Since my full-fledged return back in April, I have dedicated majority of my time to research. All of my old research documents have been updated and refined to meet the current foundation policies, in addition to conducting new tests on SCPs I have never done before. Before I knew it, other researchers in the department started to directly approach me for guidance and brainstorming sessions for their own research documents. I have never once considered any of these tasks to be an annoyance or mundane. Instead, it provided me with motivation to continue improving and helping others who are struggling.

In the past, I have participated in the research subdivisions such as the former BoE (Board of Education) and the old CRB (Chemical Research Board). I still carry and apply many of the experiences I've learned from these subdivisions.

Recently, I have been entrusted with additional responsibilities and participated in collaboration projects with 1-4 clearance level personnel. Because of this, I feel like I have reached a point where I can confidently take on the challenges and responsibilities that an Executive Researcher has to offer.

How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?:

I have written a total of 7 excellent-graded documents and counting.

An excellent graded document follows a set number of criteria and exceeds expectations laid out by the research department guidelines.

Proper grammar and Formatting – A proper document structure makes it easier for the reader to follow through relevant information in each section. The lack of organization and punctuation in a document, often leaves the reader struggling to comprehend the contents. While a neat, uniformed document shows professionalism and enhances immersion.

Creativity – Creativity involves how much effort you put into your document. This includes implementing additional sections to a document that is not covered by the standard template. A lack of creativity impacts how the document is graded. Even the most basic test ideas can become an excellent quality document if you put a bit of effort into it.

Here's an example for answering a question to the same 912 test:

1. How fast can SCP-912 arrest D-Class personnel?
2. Does SCP-912 prioritize certain D-Class when following arrest protocols?

The first is not particularly creative, it's straightforward and basic. While the second question enhances the nature of the test. Albeit by a little, it still displays effort nonetheless.

What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:

// An Executive Researcher is responsible in guiding researchers, especially new ones, on how to perform their duties. This includes, but is not limited to, how to conduct tests, write their documents, and ensure they maintain a professional attitude. Overall, Executive Researchers provide advice to all stages of research.

// Executive Researchers are also responsible for reviewing and grading documents, in addition to providing feedback upon request.

// Approving credits, and issuing required punishments to researchers who severely break the foundation's policies.

// Conducting research on CL4+ SCPs and briefing qualified Sr. Researchers on said CL4 SCPs.

// Supervising and authorizing tests when deemed appropriate.

Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Dr. Gimmy Finnegan is quirky and lighthearted individual with a deep loyalty to the Foundation. Previously, he worked at Site-15 where he specialized in the study of electronic based anomalies, before being transferred to Site-65 as part of a cross-site collaboration project. Old habits followed Dr. Finnegan, such as his skepticism in certain electronics and mild paranoia with the usage of communication devices. While this does not directly impact his research studies, he does frequent the medical wing on a regular basis for his checkups.

Settling into his new position at Site-65, Dr. Finnegan explored the various divisions in the research department to discover where his skills are suited best. As it stands, Dr. Finnegan has shown a keen interest in the Department of Ontokinetics, Department of Cognitohazards, and Department of Chemistry. Many of the topics covered by each of these departments align with Dr. Finnegan's strengths. Outside of the current departments, Dr. Finnegan has expressed his interest in reestablishing a dedicated mentor system, akin to that of the BoE.
