How long have you been a Senior Agent?
I have been Senior Agent for a total of 7 days as of writing this application. Although I have multiple months of prior experience as Senior Agent, Special Agent, and Manager.
APPLICATION QUESTIONS
Why are you applying for Special Agent?
My interest in DEA has always been more then just participating in Surface Operations. Throughout my time in the department I've learned to enjoy other aspects as well. I have consistently enjoyed the organizational, operational, and leadership side of DEA far more than just the rank progression itself. Returning to Senior agent has reinforced my interest once again for DEA and reminded my why I originally pursued leadership positions within the department in the first place.
I am applying for Special Agent because I believe the position allows me to contribute more directly towards the departments overall growth and activity. DEA functions best when its leadership actively creates opportunities for roleplay and keeps personnel engaged rather then simply supervising operations passively. This is the environment I want and hope to maintain.
In addition, I already have prior experience in DEA with leadership positions, including previous periods as both Special Agent and Department Manager. I believe that experience gives me a strong understanding of the both expectations and responsibilities associated with the role already and allows me to return with a more mature and improvement focused mindset.
What makes you suitable for Special Agent?
I believe I am suitable for Special Agent because of both my prior leadership experience and my understanding of how DEA operates beyond just standard surface operations work. Over the past several years on the server, I have held positions across multiple departments that required numerous skills to allow me to work within leadership environments.
Within DEA specifically, I have previously held Senior Agent, Special Agent, and Department Manager. During my time in those positions, I worked on departmental organization and engagement through projects such as roster restructuring and general management improvements. Outside of DEA, my experience in Site Administration and multiple MTF units have also helped me develop a broader understanding of the server and interdepartmental roleplay. I believe that a perspective like that is very important for a Special Agent as the role regularly involves corporation with other server departments/regiments.
How many documents have you written? What makes a document good?
I have written a considerable number of documents for several departments. Although I cannot remember the exact number, it likely exceeds 30+.
In my opinion, a good document is not simply long or overly detailed. A strong document is organized, easy to follow, understandable, and written with a clear purpose. Formatting and presentation are also extremely important, as a well structured document is significantly better and easier to read.
A good document will usually follow something similar to this format:
- Header / Identification
- Purpose
- Context
- Procedure
- Observations
- Findings
- Conclusion & Signage.
What are the responsibilities of a Special Agent in RP?
Special Agents are responsible with maintaining professionalism and operation standards within DEA by supervising Agents and Senior Agents. They are expected with ensuring agents are following policy, remaining active, and conducting themselves properly during operations.
They also assist management in things like trainings, senior agent tryouts, and other general leadership tasks.
In addition, Special Agents are trusted with handling higher level interactions with other GOIs, including negotiations and general diplomatic activities, if advised by a Department Manager+.
