I am applying for Executive Researcher because I enjoy the research department and want to show everyone that research is one of the most exciting departments. I want to help new researchers learn about the research department, show them how to conduct experiments, write reports, teach them important rules/guidelines and show them how great the research department is. I have fun conducting exciting experiments and documenting the whole process, showing other researchers how to create their own great studies. As Executive Researcher I would be actively helping other researchers in the department, teaching them how to write documents, helping them/giving feedback on their documents, showing them great resources to help learn more information, and I would always be there to help them and answer any questions/concerns. I would be on site whenever I can and ready to help anyone around.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
I believe I would be suitable for the Executive Researcher position because I have a great amount of experience in the research department and around the facility. I have helped many researchers and other personnel to start around the facility and most of my time has been spent as a researcher writing documents and conducting experiments. I always conduct tests ethically by following the code of ethics and code of conduct, I always make sure the experiment is worth the D-class' life and give them the best chance of survival. I write documents for nearly every experiment I conduct, usually containing around 10 pages of information that would be useful in learning more about the SCP, and applicable in creating/conducting other experiments. I'm always happy to help another researcher out and help new researchers get started in the department. I would help them understand how the research department works and the basic rules of CoE and CoC. I always encourage new researchers to start writing reports on their experiments instead of carelessly throwing D-class at an SCP. I am also excited about the new research divisions. I hope to join and help improve one of these new divisions and try to recruit new researchers in a division they are excited to be a part of.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
I have written somewhere around 10 excellent graded documents, all containing a great amount of useful information that can be used to learn more about SCP's and create new studies. A document receives an excellent grade because the writer has taken care in writing their document, not rushing to submit it as fast as possible. An excellent document should have great grammar, contains useful/detailed information, explains the experiment well, isn't rushed, has an easy to understand/read layout, and could even contain pictures/graphics. A great layout should look like:
Page 1 - Front page - Contains pictures and a heading.
Page 2 - Index
Page 3 - SCP Information - A detailed paragraph on the information already known about the SCP(s) being tested
Page 4 - Goal of Study/Aim - What you want to achieve from this study, what information you want to learn.
Page 5 - Method - How the experiment will be conducted, what safety/security precautions will be taken.
Page 6 - Hypothesis - What you expect the outcome of this study will be.
Page 7 - Findings - What you observed in this experiment.
Page 8 - Conclusion - What happened in the experiment, how does this compare to your hypothesis?
Page 9 - Participants - D-class and escorts from the experiment(s).
Page 10 - Experiment Logs - A detailed paragraph on exactly what happened in each experiment. What happened? Did anything go wrong/unexpected?
Page 11 - Authorisation - A signature of who authorised your study (if required).
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
As an Executive Researcher, you have some important responsibilities around the facility. These include:
1. Follow the code of conduct and code of ethics, you are highly trusted by the foundation and are a role model for others, make sure everything you do is responsible and experiments you conduct are ethical and value the subjects life.
2. Enforce the code of conduct and ethics, report anyone who isn't following the code of conduct and is conducting unethical tests.
3. Giving other researchers guidance/help around the department, help new researchers learn rules and how the facility/department runs.
4. Host lectures to teach other researchers necessary skills, like document writing, basics of the research department, research department important rules.
4. Give feedback/teach other researchers how to write excellent documents.
5. Grade other researchers documents, grading them fairly and giving them feedback if possible.
6. Write your own documents and conduct your own experiments, other researchers are using you as a role model.
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Liam Thompson was just a young chef working at Domino's Pizza, until one day when he was working he looked out the window and saw a weird looking skeleton walking down the street, he thought he was hallucinating because he hadn't had any sleep in about 24hrs. About 1 second later his vision disappears. He had been captured by the Chaos Insurgency, they thought Liam Thompson was working for the SCP foundation and was undercover trying to recapture the skeleton, which was an escaped SCP from the SCP foundation. Liam Thompson wakes up in an interrogation room, A member of the Chaos Insurgency notices him and starts questioning him, “Do you work for the SCP foundation? Are you undercover? Were you trying to capture the SCP?” he asks. Liam Thompson has only heard about the SCP foundation from conspiracy theories, 'could it be real?' he wondered to himself. The Chaos Insurgency member, still waiting on an answer, gets impatient and brainwashes Liam Thompson, to make him give them the information they need, only to find out they had not captured a member of the SCP foundation, but a civilian. So they release Liam Thompson, but not long after he is recaptured by the SCP foundation, he now knows about the SCP foundation and to prevent him from telling everyone he is forced to work at the SCP foundation and never see the surface again. The SCP foundation covers up his disappearance with the story that he was hit by a car. Liam Thompson starts work at the SCP foundation as a researcher, and slowly climbs the ranks, starting as Jr. Researcher, writing excellent documents and conducting ethical experiments, and slowly working his way up to Sr. Researcher.
