-
Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?: I believe that I now have the experience and professionalism needed to apply for the role, and I want to take this next step into advancing my career with the Medical Department. This would be my first whitelisted role, but I believe I am ready for both the time commitment and leadership the role requires.
-
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?: During my tenure within medical, I have accrued significant experience as both a Sr. Doctor, and as a part of HH-3. I have a deep understanding of both sides of the medical department, as well as other site affairs, and feel confident I can both manage and tackle any problems that may arise, as well as give medical advice to personnel that require it. I have a great understanding of the rules medical must follow, and feel confident I can enforce those rules with our staff as well. I also greatly enjoy RP, and becoming a consultant would be a way to further my RP and character. I am also familiar with human biology, and have an understanding of real world medical procedure, which will allow me to contribute to fun and interesting RP.

Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice: How to cure a bone fracture. First, escort the personnel to the X-ray scanner, and help them into the device. Instruct them to lay still so the images are clear. Once the scanner has identified the broken limb, reach into the medical cabinet and grab a single dose of calcium for the limb in question. Then, pour the dose into a conical beaker, and from the beaker into a medicinal drug pot. Instruct the injured personnel to swallow the entire dose within the jar, and then wait for their limb to set and heal. If multiple limbs are broken repeat the previous steps but with a dose of calcium for their other broken limb. Once their fracture has been resolved, escort them out of the medical center.

I would also like to mention a less formulaic procedure, which is that of surgery. Surgery is a very complex medical procedure since it needs to be RP generated in its entirety. I recently helped a researcher write a step by step surgery to remove the brain of a D-class for a high clearance study, which obtained approval from ethics. It was fun to write, and fun to watch the consultant attempt to remove the brain in RP as well.

What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
First and foremost, providing leadership and stability as an example within the medical department, and ensuring that all medical personnel adhere to both ethical guidelines and professionalism.
Consultants also provide medical advice to any personnel that may need it, and will interact with many different departments throughout the site.
Consultants are also responsible for performing licensing tests, giving medical trainee's their exam as well as providing knowledge on medical practices like EST, fractures, and illness.
Consultants can also perform higher clearance surgeries, as well as give psychological evaluations to CL4+ Personnel.
Finally, should the need arise, Consultants can also revoke medical licenses for breaches of the ethical and legal codex.

Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Nothing interesting ever happened on the Boardwalk. At least, nothing interesting to Dr. Marvin Garden. The late night drunkards, party-goers, and beach bums may have appreciated the serenity and Luxury Tax, but to Marvin it was mind numbing. He and his medical talents were wasting away in that small town, and he knew it. Till one day, a strange patient walked in. Or rather, “shattered” in. Marvin had never seen anything like it, a man whose entire skeleton was completely fused together. The real shock was when he started to move, broke nearly every joint in his body just to heal those breaks almost immediately. Then the hallucinations set in. Marvin dreamed that helicopters had descended, black vans surrounding his small clinic. Of course, this was preposterous! Or at least it was until Marvin woke up. The first thing he saw was a dim fluorescent light. Then the guards, surrounding a man with a black coat. The man made him an offer, to either return to the world with no knowledge of the strange humanoid, or to work to understand and cure such creatures. Marvin decided to take a Chance, rejecting the Community Chest to enter the anomalous. This, of course, was how The Foundation recruited Dr. Marvin Garden. Starting as a trainee, Marvin worked his way up the medical ladder. He cured countless personnel with his own concocted cures, diagnosed D-class who had suddenly developed Lung Cancer, and provided psychological evaluation to the tired and weary personnel of Site-65. But now it was time for something greater. Marvin was ready for his greatest challenge yet, Consultant. To be a leader within the department.

It was finally time to
Pass Go. (collect $200 from the bank)

“My name is Dr. Marvin Garden, and welcome to the medical center.”
