Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?
- I was informed I should try it out and I believe it would not only be enjoyable but good for the medical division to have more leadership.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
- In character I am knowledgeable of medical procedure and protocol for site 65. OOC I have experience with the medical field, as I was in nursing for a few years.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
- Surgery. Specifically, a "Vocoder voice module repair" side by side with a technical expert who is experienced in the repair and replacement of mechanical prosthesis. Surgery prep adhered to protocol. All assisting parties scrubbed in. Sterile field was created. Patient was given local anesthetics and analgesics for comfort. Patient remained alert and oriented during the procedure and communicated through their PDA. I, as the surgeon, assisted with the removal and reapplication of the patient's prosthesis with the technical expert, alongside maintaining patient privacy, dignity, and comfort. Operation went without any major hitches, besides the technical expert burning themselves on their soldering iron during the repair.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
- Oversee the medical staff within the foundation
- Provide support and suggestion during procedures
- Decide what medical procedures take place
- Assist in training with medical trainees and the hiring of new doctors.
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
- Adrian (before his career at the foundation) was in his 4th year of residency as a trauma-neuro physician in [Redacted] USA at [Redacted] hospital. It was a normal day at the hospital. He had 4 patients that week in in-patient observation. One patient in particular was cleared for discharge for outpatient physical therapy. As Adrian approached the patient to discuss his discharge, he noticed a peculiar IV pole in the corner, perhaps the nurses forgot to take it away for cleaning...? He approached it, when suddenly he was transported to another dimension. A dimension of barren twilight. No civilization. No food. No way out. Adrian spent what felt to be a decade in that place.... until one day he came back to reality. However, now instead of the hospital he was so accustomed to, he was in a metal room behind a glass. He looks through the glass and notices a logo on the wall... "SCP Foundation".
