Discord name: Nitro_Xenon
For how long have you played on CG SCP: 1 Week, 6 Days, 8 Hours
Age: 22
In what country are you located?: Canada
Time zone: PST
Character name(s): Simeon "Nightwatch" Hopper (F), Simone "Daybreak" Hooper (CI), Nathan "Ace" Carter (GOC)
Civilian name: Graham Gretaline
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): USA
Do you have a mic?:
- Yes
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
- Nu-7 SPC (Held), CI-A (Holding), E-11 SPC (Holding)
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
- One warning for Metagaming currently active involving a D-Class Type Blue.
Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
- I believe that I am able to educate other researchers on protocol, Testing/Sampling, and documentation of testing done within the facility. I would like to experience what other people come up with for testing and I would like to better educate people on proper formatting of documents and proper test procedures to ensure safety and fun while conducting tests. I would also like to evaluate documents to determine how people can improve their responses and give more in-depth descriptions of what they are studying.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
- I write my research papers using the scientific method to the best of my abilities and provide details for every step that I take to paint a complete picture in the documents I write. I try to reach out to other researchers with problems when they are starting out or are looking for me to document review, and guide them through the process of how people can improve their testing and how they can present that information in their documents when they submit them. I apply what I have learned from feedback given to me and the resources I have gathered to either create new tests or apply previous tests in either chemistry or cross-testing.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
- I have currently received 3 excellent grade reports that I have submitted. What makes an excellent grade document is made up of several factors, one factor being the content of the report and the details of what is being described. The content of the report should be relevant to the research being conducted and should be consistent with the testing being done and should be substantive. Yielding nothing or improperly completing tests leads to poor documentation and a waste of resources and time. The details of the report should describe the events taking place, the results of the experiments being done, and if the results support or refute the hypothesis being tested. Another factor of writing a document is the presentation and format. If the document is incoherent or improperly structured it will deter others from reading the report and may misinterpret results found in the document. The format should be consistent with the report being filled out, and should be segmented so that each of the topics being discussed are clear and represent the scientific process necessary for proper testing.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
- Some of the duties of executive researcher include:
The review and classification of submitted test documents and other important files, including reviewing in-progress documents to approve testing for high-clearance SCPs
Aiding peers and other researchers in the nuances and tasks of how to research and how to make proper tests that can be submitted
Being a positive mentor and member of the research sector, boosting morale and creating a helpful and unique place to work
Observing the conduct and behaviour of other researchers and finding ways to improve conditions for the research sector and the facility
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Simeon Hopper in his life before the foundation worked at a chemical analysis laboratory located in [REDACTED] Canada. The foundation looked at the talents he demonstrated and offered him a permanent position at the foundation at Site-65. Much of the work he has achieved at the foundation revolved around the extraction of SCP matter and applying the substances towards the realm of chemistry and occasionally observing the effects the chemicals have on human subjects. He has experimented on interacting with SCPs and their motivations but as it is not his specialty, does not conduct these tests often but wishes to explore them further. After making a breakthrough with a chemical mixture involving several SCPs and their matter, he set his sights on expanding his responsibilities of the foundation and wanted to oversee the research being conducted by his peers and how he could improve the research department in the foundation. He continues to work amongst other researchers to improve the processes and the testing conducted in Site-65 to provide insight and knowledge of SCPs.
