Civilian name: Ryan Steken
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP USA
Do you have a mic?: Yes.
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
Holding:
Site Manager
Held:
Site Advisor
Director of Research
Ethics Committee Assistant
Executive Researcher
2x E-11 CSG
DEA Senior Agent
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
None.
What O5 role are you applying for, and why (give the specific O5 number):
I am applying for the role of O5-4 under the name of “The Catalyst”. During the span of my time inside of Site Administration and Research, I have learned many things that helped me to reach my goals and help others as best as possible. I genuinely enjoy the roleplay that can be created as an O5 member and would like to do the same with the goal of also including other people on-site that rarely would get that experience with the goal of not only bringing roleplay to the site but also inspire other people to use their chances and climb the ladder to do the same.
What makes you the best candidate for the O5 Council?:
Throughout my tenures as not only Director of Research but Site Advisor and now Site Manager, I have continued to improve my skills. I feel confident in my abilities and my experience to go up the ladder and do a good job as a member of the O5 Council. My strongest suit would be my administrative skills which I have been showcasing not only inside of RSD but also as a Site Advisor and lastly as a Site Manager. In addition, I am a friendly and laid-back person that always tries to help people whenever possible and offers others a different view on matters that help them to find a solution in the end. I would call myself to be solution-orientated and unbiased as I try to take every perspective on an issue and find the best compromise for everyone involved. If required, I will take the initiative and handle things myself. All of this does not mean that I cannot be strict as I already have been multiple times whenever the situation at hand required it. This also comes with leadership skills that I’ve been continuously refining throughout all my roles.
When it comes to the roleplay side of things, I have pushed roleplay on the server through projects, random interactions and other opportunities as part of Site Administration and as Director of Research. This includes different joint projects together with other departments or even O5 themselves. This has already taught me some of the roleplay aspects in which the O5 operates within which makes me confident I can fulfill them in the future. I always give it my best and appreciate every moment of it even if things went sideways.
What are the responsibilities of the O5 Council in RP?:
O5 are responsible for overseeing the entire Site together with Site Administration. Together with this, they issue projects to different departments and Site Administration and authorize highly dangerous tests involving, for example, SCP-008. O5 is also responsible for upholding and maintaining the Code of Conduct. To achieve this, they issue these through OSAs and A-1 as O5 is meant to work in the shadows. In addition, they are also able to authorize several other things like Code Blacks, AA, KOS past airlock and finally usage of the Alpha Warhead.
What are the responsibilities of the O5 Council out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
Members of the O5 Council handle the selection of new Site Directors, Overseer Assistants and A-1 Commander. In addition, they oversee their assigned departments (besides O-1 and ISD) and create RP for the entire site. Finally, O5 issues projects to their departments and are responsible for maintaining the Code of Conduct.
Please give some lore about your O5 character and what storylines they would be involved in:

“[…] opened the safety door which resulted in contamination of the vicinity and at the end, contamination of over 43% of the entire site as the direct result of an SCP-008 experiment conducted by Exec. Researcher ████ S. Another result of the experiment was the contamination of all SCP-008-2 instances with ███████ which resulted in successful termination of all known instances and traces of SCP-008 after █ hours which rendered all decontamination efforts obsolete. Further research to refine and use this discovery is waiting for approval. The Associate Researcher has been declared M.I.A. while the leading Researcher has been found alive and well. Investigations regarding the Associate Researcher’s possible affiliations with another Group of Interest are on-going with evidence suggesting strong links to the Chaos Insurgency. […]”

RAISA Officer:
“So, how are things doing?”
Ryan:
“Well, some issues here and there you know but good in general.”
RAISA Officer:
"Do you know why we requested you here? “
Ryan:
“Is it about the incident?”
RAISA Officer:
"We need you to fill out some gaps for us. During and after it. Are you able to do that?”
Ryan:
“Ehm… Sure. What do you want to know?”
[Excerpt from Audio Logs – #02/15]
Ryan:
“Get inside here! Now!”
Researcher:
”Shit… What the hell is happening?”
Ryan:
“You remember the test I was telling you about? It all went haywire!”
Researcher:
“What? How?”
Ryan:
“I don’t know. They said that the door malfunctioned and that they couldn’t stop it fast enough.”
Researcher:
“What the hell are we supposed to do now, huh? Wait it out and hope that someone rescues us while we are sitting ducks here?”
Ryan:
“I’ve got something. Trust me. It’ll work.”
[Excerpt from Interview – #14/51]
RAISA Officer:
“So you used the knowledge you gained from your previous incident, correct?”
Ryan:
“Correct.”
RAISA Officer:
“How did you manage to not only acquire a sample with the minimum required amount but also inject it into some one of the anomalies?”
Ryan:
“Well… It involved some… Non-standard procedures if you would call it that way.”
RAISA Officer:
“Please proceed.”
[Excerpt from Audio Logs – #06/27]
Ryan:
“Did you get it?”
D-0587:
“I think so. Take a look.”
Ryan:
“Yes, that’s it. Great job. Can you do one more thing for us, please?”
D-0587:
“Do I even have a choice?”
Ryan:
“You must make sure that you infect them with this. Can you do that?”
D-0587:
“Sure. So just throw it at them and run?”
Ryan:
“It has to be injected...”
D-0587:
“Are you joking? I’m not gonna sacrifice myself for you.”
Ryan:
“Look, I can distract one of them for you while you inject it, okay?”
D-0587:
“Are you sure that this will work?”
Ryan:
“Fairly certain. And besides, we have no other choice left.”
[Excerpt from Interview – #19/64]
RAISA Officer:
“Just to clarify: You worked together with a D-Class, known for inciting violence, am I correct?”
Ryan:
“Is it really relevant what-”
RAISA Officer:
“Answer the question.”
[short period of silence]
Ryan:
“Yes.”
RAISA Officer:
“Why?”
Ryan:
“They know ways around the facility which you could not even think of. And they know how to defend themselves.”
RAISA Officer:
“You are lucky he didn’t not make any attempts of escaping, otherwise you would be looking at treason right here.”
Ryan:
“He didn’t. The site probably got saved because of his actions. That’s all that matters to me.”
RAISA Officer:
“I believe we are done here. Thanks for answering our questions.”
