Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
No Kicks or Bans, A few OLD warnings from way back when I first joined the community. The most recent was due to a rule that I was not aware was added.
What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
Ethics Committee Member. Its the logical next step, plus its an interesting step forward, as well as to assist in the progress of Events or Story Lines. I don't exactly have a big long reason, I just think it would be a change in the right direction for me.
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
Prior Experience as Upper level Roles within CI and Managerial Roles in maintaining documentation. As well as being well known in the community and a full willingness to participate.
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
- Updates and Changes to the Code of Ethics, and using O1 to enforce the Code of Ethics
- Ensuring Power Balance between O5 and Ethics.
- Management of CL4 Personnel
- Management of Higher Level Cross Tests.
- Management of ISD and Medical, and previously research though I believe SA takes care of that now.
- Ensuring the welfare and safety of all site personnel, including D-Class.
- Selecting and appointing qualified Internal Affairs Directors.
- Granting authorization for KOS (Kill on Sight) orders beyond the airlock.
- Managing and facilitating communications between Groups of Interest (GOIs).
- Participating in High Court tribunals and serving as presiding judge when necessary.
- Monitoring the overall wellbeing and morale of site staff.
- Calling and coordinating Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) when required.
- Approving or initiating site-wide nuclear protocols when no other option remains.
- Authorizing AA
- Approving mass D-Block terminations under ethical review. (Admins cover this i think?)
- Issuing directives to Ethics Committee Assistants.
- Convening tribunals for high-ranking Foundation personnel under review.
- Ensuring that the SCP Foundation never undertakes unnecessary or immoral actions that fail to serve the greater good.
Defining and upholding the moral boundaries of what is acceptable in pursuit of the Foundation’s mission.
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
- ECA/ISD/ECM Applications
- Assisting in Choosing O1 Commander.
- Management of Orders (not sure if orders are both OOC/IC)
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Event Storyline Involvements: Lurker, Amber Crystal.
Character Storyline Involvements: Asmodeus Investigation
Previously, Cen “Pastor” Corrend served as CI-C MCOM within the Chaos Insurgency. After years of constant work, the grind and brutality of the Insurgency began to wear on him. The true turning point came with a moment of clarity—the realization that his actions no longer followed the Lord’s path. What he once justified as duty had become something darker, something that no longer sat right with his faith. For a time, he struggled with what to do. Eventually, he returned to what groynded him—his belief, his purpose, and his calling. With that, he sought out the Foundation and earned permission to conduct testing with SCP-7722. During his time working among Foundation staff, he found people who shared his values and a sense of direction that no longer conflicted with his conscience. After long conversations with O1 and members of the Ethics Committee, he made the hardest choice of his life: to turn away from the Chaos Insurgency and commit to the Foundation’s work. It was not betrayal for ambition’s sake—it was a return to faith and principle. Since then, he has served as an Ethics Committee Assistant, helping to guide the Foundation toward more humane practices while staying true to his peaceful and moral nature. Now, he hopes to take the next step—to serve as a full Ethics Committee Member and continue working toward a balance between science, morality, and the sanctity of life.
