What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
I saw a post on Discord about freed-up prop space in medbay and a request for suggestions. In medbays reception area, there is a small wheelchair ramp. However, once you get past the first door, there is a large set of unlit stairs leading to any and all medical procedure rooms. This doesn't really make any sense, as anyone who is, temporarily or permanently, bound to a wheelchair cannot access any other rooms besides offices and combat medic bunks. The stairs are also unlit making them dangerous to go up and down and causing difficulty identifying people in the stairwell. This gave me the idea of adding a ramp and lights within medbays lobby staircase to keep with usual medical and civil regulations, as having a wheelchair ramp in the reception area but not for anyone seeking medical treatment seems odd at best and dubious at most, as does the darkness at the staircase. This seems to have been taken well on discord, and I think if implemented would be seen as a great addition. I understand that most of site 65 is not wheelchair accessible, but anyone who would (rp wise) be in a wheelchair on site would only be in one temporarily for injuries and as of right now could not reasonably get around anywhere without some excesive and possibly even dangerous assistance just to leave medbay (again dark stairwell and you are trying to pull a wheelchair up or down it?). However, with the ramp and lighting implemented, anyone bound to said chair could get around the lcz/ez area and could at least assist or advise on basic paperwork-type duties. In other words, it makes no sense why there's a small ramp at the entrance but none in the actual medbay, and the dark staircase is an eyesore.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not that I could find
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Better immersion and RP within the site, and better-looking stairs (as right now it's one gigantic flat staircase with no lighting) as the lighting and ramp will help break up the repetition and add more character/nuance to the area.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
None that I could think of. It's only a negative that this suggestion is not already in place. This is a recommendation for a flat improvement; it's up to the development team to execute this in a way that would not cause issues.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Currently, the implications of Medbay's design are ignorant or even belligerent. This is a small change that will be taken well by most, if not all, of the people who see it.
