I don't care about formatting or anything I just wanna get this out there.

A little bit ago me and my friend were roleplaying as attorneys, most people were having fun with it and all was well. (We got approval from an Ethics member and the ia department director) We even got a few people out of jail time. Then, earlier today I got arrested as usual and I just so happened to spawn in the med bay instead of the cell so, I called an admin and I also put in a thing for possible false arrest but I wasn't counting on it. I end up explaining the whole attorney thing and right there the admin tells me to stop and that I cant. I was told I'm only allowed to RP as my job says. That's what I have a problem with, why can't I, I wasn't hurting anybody I was RPing unlike the rest of the server that spends their days clocking in time and grinding levels in the hope of one day moving up and finding a drop of RP. I don't blame the admin, for it is just how the server is built but, why can't I, why can't I RP, why can't I have fun, why must I stick to a box that they have set up for me, why can't I create RP, If you aren't site command or ethics good luck finding RP because the moment you do is the moment you'll get in trouble or arrested or told "You can't"

Depends what job you were playing as, if you're playing as a Chef trying to be an attorney you'd probably get told to stop, if you're playing as an Agent with a suit & tie then there is no reason you should be told to stop.

I don't think I properly conveyed the message I was trying to tell but, I think you were looking at it from a completely technical standpoint, and from a technical standpoint I am wrong in every way; it isn't my server I choose to play on it, technically I was an It specialist and so on.
I was simply trying to show the poor state in my opinion, RP.

This will particular case will never get solved for obvious reasons but, I hoped whoever reads this will think about it long and hard, and maybe find a way to enhance RP that could get implemented.

At the end of the day yes, Im in the wrong, and it is not my server, and maybe Civil Networks being RP focused is not the will of the staff or people but, if it is I hope somebody will find a way to improve it for the lower ranking people because you shouldn't have to fill out an application on an RP server to RP.

Anyways, I would love to hear the standpoint of an SL (if you have the time) because the only people I have gotten to discuss this with are low-ranking people like myself.

but you just got a reply from CL lmao

I don't play on SCP-RP much but I agree with Clonk; while I think you did good by clearing it with a higher up, you need to set some realistic expectations.

Of course, it is within the realm of possibilities to be a chef with an LLB/JD in real life (that is unfortunately the state of the current economy) but in the game it shouldn't be that hard to have a playermodel looking like an actual lawyer with a suit and tie. It is great that you are trying to enrich roleplay but you have to do it in a sensible way.

I'm sure the server would appreciate your creativity! Why don't you apply to be a GM on SCP? Maybe then you'd have inherently more flexibility to roleplay, and you could even model yourself to be a lawyer (maybe make it a lore character!)
