What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
I am applying for the position of Ethics Committee Member.
I believe that in the two years I have played on CN, and through all of the roles I have held, I have acquired enough experience to finally become a member of The Ethics Committee. I look to advance the storylines of my character, Jay Rowling, and create more storylines and RP for others with my character as an Ethics Committee Member. Along with creating RP, I believe I have spent enough time working with other leaders, regiments, factions, and departments to be a strong leader in terms of guidance and direction.
I wish to see more Roleplay around the site and as Site Command it would be within my duty to strive to create as much as possible.
What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
Chaos Insurgency Experience -
My time in the Chaos Insurgency has spanned almost the full 2 years I have been in the CN Community. This experience has given me a Point of View that most don't have, as I spent my entire time in CI trying to do what would be best for the faction while keeping the Roleplay and health of the whole server in mind. I have learned to work with everybody, and have always upheld strong OOC relations with all departments, regiments, and factions. Along with that I have upheld strong IC relations with the UNGOC, throughout half-a-dozen Generals for a majority of my time in Regimental Command.
I think I have been able to defeat the stereotype that CI only wants to RDM legally, and I know that I have made the necessary progress to bring RP to and from CI, which has never been an easy task.
Along with that, I was in charge of an entire faction which has stretched me thin at times, but was a lesson in management which is a very important skill to being a Clearance 5.
Ethics Committee Assistant & Omega-1 Experience -
I have spent a lot of time around the Ethics Committee, while this experience was all from my first tenure at Civil Networks, which was a long time ago, a lot of what I learned was very important lessons on what can be done well to the benefit of the subordinates of The Ethics Committee, and these learnings will allow me to prevent mistakes from occurring, and know when to listen to rectify mistakes that I may have made as a leader.
Additionally, it gives me ideas of what orders, or Roleplay I can provide so that they have the best possible experience they can with me.
Alpha-1 Experience -
I have experience from the other side of things, this allows me to make decisions to avoid OOC tensions, and hopefully maintain a level of respect between Omega-1 and Alpha-1 on an OOC level. In terms of IC tensions, I will have an easier time understanding how to keep things between completely boring and completely out of control to maintain balance.
DEA & Executive Researcher Experience -
These roles have given me baseline Junior CL4 experience within Foundation and I believe I made good usage of both of these roles as a leader and as a departmental CL4.
My time as an Executive, I was heavily involved with the Directors of Research at the time to develop new policies, and the concept of a cross-testing policy which was later put in place by the Ethics Committee, and is still used today. As a Special Agent, I did not do much directly for DEA, however, I used my position to better understand DEA and SOP as a whole and make decisions as a CI Commander that would be beneficial to everybodu.
I have been the leader of the Board of Education, and I was a Junior Officer within BORTAC a very long time ago. Understanding sub-divisions and what makes them run well, along with knowing when one is needed and what it is needed for is important. While most sub-divisions are not run by Ethics, but rather by SA, as an EC Departmental representative, I would be able to give constructive opinions and criticisms on the topics
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
The Ethics Committee is responsible for:
- The creation of RP for members of the Foundation, and GOIs
- The management and enhancement of ongoing RP and storylines from an Ethics Member's standpoint whether it be by approving things, enforcing the code of ethics, or just making a decision for the sake of being a chaotic neutral party.
- Supporting and guiding of other departments and individuals to ensure they are upholding ethical standards and functioning well, enforcing the CoE's policies and punishments, or lending a hand where needed.
- providing orders to Omega-1 & ECAs.
- Leading investigations on departments to make sure they are not violating any policies, and are operating as should be
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
The Ethics Committee is responsible for:
The Director of Internal Security's application
Appointment of Omega-1 Commanders
Ethics Committee Assistant applications
Holding, attending, or shadowing meetings of CL4s, CL5s, and departments
Handling a demotion appeal that is relevant to the committee if it is to come to them.
Voting on policies such as CoE changes
