What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
1) Add new jobs to the Site Staff category for higher Clearance Levels of Support Staff. - The Support Staff are underutilized, meaning players aren't using them that much. The Support level tree only unlocks the Technical Expert job in this category, mainly used for the Medic line. Most fleshed out lines include 4 tiers, plus a department head level, the first one being free for all, the second and third being earned through levels, and the fourth being whitelist-only, appointed by the Head. Support Staff (Janitors, Chefs, Techies) lacks this progression, when it could be implemented. They don't require full progression lines like the bigger ones, but extra room to grow and unlock things would be nice.
New job ideas: Cleaning Technician - CL2 Janitor: Support Level 10, Total Level 20. Combat Engineer - CL3 Techie with a gun: Support Level 20, Total Level 40.

2) Janitors cleaning up decals (bullet holes, blood, etc) gives bonus XP after a certain threshold. (say, 100 decals for the equivalent of one mess cleaned)

3) Please fix certain messes spawning inside walls being unable to be cleaned up.

4) Please add a way to de-/respawn cleaning supplies, mop buckets, or vacuums so they don't get lost somewhere in the ether, so that we can clean up both mop and vacuum related messes easier without having to somehow lug around both tools, or leaving it somewhere and having to run back and forth for them. Or just give us a cordless handheld vacuum that we don't need to drag around, idk.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not as far as I know.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1)
Allowing for progression through the jobs of a given category will increase the sense of accomplishment that players receive for doing their job.
Players who want to "main" Support staff will be able to engage more easily, allowing for more roleplay content.
Janitors will be able to clean up in every location, because currently, many stains are locked behind CL2 or higher doors.
People who want to play Support, but not do Medicine, can rank up, too.

2)
Janitors will start actually doing their job cleaning up regular messes that occur, not just the special spots that give rewards.
Extra experience for people doing their job.

3, and 4 are pretty obvious.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
A little more clutter in the job menu
Janitors potentially messing with stuff they really shouldn't mess with (RP opportunities, hidden positive?)

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I feel like my ideas here would add some nice bonuses for players who want to play these roles

also due to limitations decals cant be removed by a swep, and if they can there was a reason they didnt add it by now, because not being able to clean decals one by one was the main reason why they didnt add a janitor for so long
this is wholly untrue, evidenced by the fact that this is literally in the server using the janitor mop and vacuum.

this is a terrible suggestion - there's no need for "progression" with ETS as it is not a proper department

I do support expanding on roles like this, though I'm not sure this is the best format for it. Janitorial feels like it should maybe be a different department, especially given it has a separate spawn and doesn't have access to the /ets comms channel. I can, however, see janitorial being considered a "technical service" of a kind, and so it could fit into E&TS if that was desired. If it was, the format I'd want to see would be something like:
  • Engineer (CL1)
  • Janitor (CL1)
  • IT Technician (CL2 + CL3 office overrides)
  • Senior Engineer (CL3)
    • Essentially Tech Expert, but CL3.
  • Biohazard Remediator (CL3 + 008 outer overrides)
    • Essentially a janitor, but more focused on cleaning up after biohazards and the like, like blood, 008, and medical stuff.
    • Would spawn with the infection scanner, but not the infection tester - essentially the other side of the coin to Medical.
    • Outside of RP or 008 outbreaks, this would then be the role which would be responsible for cleaning up up to CL3 areas.
  • Containment Engineer (CL3 + SCP overrides)
    • Has Tech Expert stuff, but without the IT Technician stuff, but with the containment engineering tool that's planned.
  • Foreman (CL4)
    • Senior Engineer + Containment Engineer + Janitor (not BR) equipment
    • Position similar to a DEA Manager, or Consultant.
  • Department Director (CL4)
The above would be my ideal format, though I'm not happy that it still leaves Chef on its own, though tbh, given they don't typically need to be going around the site and the like, which roles like Tech Expert/Engineer/etc. do, I don't think this is as much of an issue as those are. I'm also not 100% onboard with having a combat tech role, except maybe Containment Engineer being given something like a Karma-45 and not being combat-focused, but more just being able to actually do something in the case of an SCP they're maintaining breaking out.

There's two things wrong with this - one lore-based, and one function-based. In terms of lore, they literally are a department. It's the Engineering and Technical Service Department. In terms of function, what you're saying here is that "it shouldn't exist because it doesn't already exist", which doesn't make any sense. Content is added because it's wanted, not because it already exists, that's not how the flow of time works.
