Character Inventories

What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
[My suggestion is to make it so inventories don't transfer between characters. This may be a very large change but I believe if implemented correctly it could open alot of new pathways]

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
[I don't believe so]

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
[Less people using ooc items, more reason to get these items in rp bringing more rp to different departments,]

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
[Work put into making this, US-UK crosstrading]

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
[I think this would give chemical research a bit more depth, E.g GOC/CI can't just collect the samples on researcher and then hop on GOC/CI to do their tests, it has to all be done through planning and RP. I know that this may affect cross trading so if there was a way to have character saves transfer that would be helpful. I think this would also give the opportunity for more food related rp. Eg, chefs hiring DEA/NU7 to get them ingredients. This might also raise food prices and increase the food economy and give more of a reason for chef gameplay. I feel like this suggestion may require some work as well so if you have any suggestions for changes please feel free to mention them :)]

Things like cyanide will be increasingly hard to get if you're on a job that cannot leave the foundation else its failrp.
Using actual good ingredients on surface as a foundation chef? With this, like you said nu7 would go get them, but this will not happen since nu7/dea are busy fighting CI and won't go out for ingredients for a chef.
Also if you leave a regiment, you can't access that regiments job anymore locking you out of your items, also applies with job bans.

Did you even think about this?

I don’t see an issue with this, MC&D, GOC, and just general civillians can sell cyanide pills to SCPF or CI.

The point of leaving your regiment or being job banned/unwhitelisted also doesn’t apply, because it’s a CHARACTER based system, so that means that your SCP character will always have the same stuff in their inventory, but your CI, GOC, and Civillian characters wont.

The surface crate shit never made sense. Just make anything you can get from them accessible from the Foundation chef NPCs and leave the crates to the surface jobs.

While I understand most people here would like this to make chemical and cyanide trading an IC thing, people seem to forget there are more things in stashes.

Knives and other collectable melee weapons would have to be bought 3-4 times to use on all characters.

What's more, if someone is able to hop on early to make chems without lag, you really think something stops him from inviting his friend from another faction into his base, and throwing chems at him so he can put it in a stash accesible in his base?

Another thing, everyone would have to get +1 stash for every character they have. That would be a loooooot of free slots and as I said earlier, there still would be a way to transfer stuff to other characters. If we make stashes smaller to make up for it, people with full stashes would just lose their stuff, or it would take lots of devs time to transfer items to other stashes (and we would end up with people having stuff on ci character when they wanted it to be on foundation)

One more problem, people that bought aditional stash 30x20 would either get smaller stashes so not what they paid for, or have 4 more massive stashes when everyone else have small ones

Summing up, this solutions to the problem would create too many issues and would be easy to bypass, so

well "What's more, if someone is able to hop on early to make chems without lag, you really think something stops him from inviting his friend from another faction into his base, and throwing chems at him so he can put it in a stash accesible in his base?"
This would just be failrp. There's no good rp reason to have someone coming over and doing that in rp. So that would likely result in a warn.

I'm not too sure about the additional stash purchases, but i feel like each character could have their separate extra stach.

Any collectible items such as knives, event rewards or gun skins could me made transferrable between characters possibly. Ofc this means that more devtime needs to go into making a config that selects which items could be made transferrable.

I imagine with a change like this, a community wide inventory wipe would need to be necessary to even facilitate this. So all items like food items, chems, weapons, attachments or other stuff would be wiped EXCLUDING collectible items like knives, gun skins and event rewards.
If any items are removed and put in a fridge or some such, then those chems have essentially become character locked, so problem solved anyway!

As for the inventory space, what could be done is reducing the space for each stash, and reduce the price for each inventory stash, however this seems like a halfway solution, any feedback?
