What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This would implement the third person disabled zones which were present on MRP, at each factions base, which would activate during code 1's/5's. These would be located in only certain areas of the map, where combat is rampant, whilest specifically EXLCUDING places where it is not. An (incomplete) list of my current ideas for such areas are:
Surface - Watchtowers, the entrance doors to CI/GOC base
(CI : Garage, and the main room [the one which you walk into from garage]
{Realised wouldn't make sense for GOC/CI, with the codes being F codes}
GOC: Stairs, bunker BD, and the room after the BD, up to chem lab)
EZ/Garage - Placed at the EZ BD (that hallway section between the double doors and the door at MTF loop), the entirety of garage, and the F3 nuke room.
LCZ - PW bathroom, entirety of D-Block, 1162 + it's maintenece room beneath.
PW - RSD chem wing hall (from the airlock to the door to the stairs, exluding the actual chem labs).
LLCZ - 914 + maintenece room nearby, non spec, secondary BD, primary BD.
HCZ - The control rooms of 076 , 106, 682 and 7722; The entire CC (and door) of 079, the outer room (and airlock doors) of 008.
I don't have a full idea on where *exactly* these would be placed, going off of what I saw being areas where combat is most prevelant (though I have a bias, as I mainly deal with CI combat, so areas of other combat might be ignored by me here, I also encourage anyone who has knowledge of the areas, specifically E11/GOC/CI, to put thoughts on the areas I placed in HCZ so I can modify this suggestion :] ). These zone would also extend slightly outside of the areas, to encompass the doors leading into them, for example.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Somewhat, this is a spin on the previous addition where C1's/C5's would disable third person, but in a way which I hope minimises the issues people faced with the system at the time, which led to it's removal.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Unlike the previous changed which was reverted, zones will have fluidity to them - if they don't work out, they can be removed.
- The zones means that players in areas like medbay or PW will not be affected by C1's/C5's, like they were previously.
- The zones proposed are placed at specific areas within rooms, allowing, for example, third person to still be used at say 7722 or 106 CC, just not when inside the control room.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- The zones proposed may be contested by people who work in those areas, and not all areas where third person abuse happens might have been said, though I hope to mitigate this with tweaks to this suggestions (marked) with feedback.
- Due to the differences of the MRP/SCP servers, the system may be harder to implement than I believe, hence development time would be taken up.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
While I know that some people may have issue with specific zones proposed in this suggestion, I believe that the core idea of this suggestion, the implementation of these zones, would be a more succesful version of the attempted restrictions which failed. The nature of the zones, as outlined in one of the positives, means that any negative effects that this may have on certain areas which are zoned, may be reverted.
