What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:

I want to be an Ethics Committee Member because I'm at a point where my guidance, experience and presence feel as if they matter on a metalevel that transcends divisions. I wish to support additional character development beyond my division to establish a comprehensive tone for the entirety of the site reflective of Foundation ethics. You're not given leadership; it's assumed. It's just there, there for a calm, there to ensure clarity, there to remind others of standards that make the Foundation's integrity what it's all about.

I've been here long enough to realize that one single presence and effectiveness ultimately dictates how everyone else operates. It's one thing to be in awe of someone; it's another to inherently possess such an established energy that expectation becomes accountability and professionalism never the exception. It's time that my directed such leadership as an oversight position finally benefits the site as a whole.

The Ethics Committee is not a prestigious, honor worthy of public spectacle. It's a lauded position in silence, ever there, intentional existence that right is never lost, even if it means being a temporary devil's advocate. It's objective, dissuading unnecessary judgment and unfounded cross-examination but it's acknowledgment that when someone chooses to do what's best for the Foundation's trajectory, it better hold water with accountability.

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:

As Director of Research, I've become the embodiment of what it means and what it stands for. I've made my name within the community by establishing myself as a leader defined through patience, equilibrium and conviction where quality roleplay, daily professionalism and long-term professionalism intertwine. I know what's reasonable but more so, I know what's best and I constantly challenge myself to be above standard instead of merely at it.

An Ethics Committee Member requires an uncommon duality of compassion and fortitude with the former allowing one to see all sides and the latter propelling one to make decisions others are too timid to implement. I've spent months absorbing how community culture thrives and where stagnation breeds failure. I've known far too many members romanticize success while failing to see how powerful failure can be. There is no room for growth without acknowledging what's uncomfortable, what's wrong and how we can all transform them into potential rights.

I've made a name for myself as someone who comes through with predictable outcomes and thoughtful application. My decision-making process is both methodical, calm, retrospective and proactive. I do not control outcomes; I control the ground on which they take root. I do not change systems for appearances; I cultivate systems for growth potential. That's where my value comes into play.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:

The Ethics Committee is the Foundation's moral compass ever quiet yet ever present and more often than not, the reminder that what we've sought out through this growth endeavor may not be worth it at the cost of our ethical dilemmas. Every test, every project, every containment effort attempting to cross the line needs to run through us first to discuss implications. WE are the ultimate deciding factor that determines where science ends and ethics begins and we ensure their harmonious existence without conflict.

We're always there; we're always present. We oversee tests, audits and interdepartmental professionalism. We interject when standards are dismissed; we commend excellence when sustained. We've called upon Internal Security or MTF Omega-1 should regulation momentarily be derailed by unfortunate necessity or observably compliant convenience. When something goes awry and integrity is lost we've taken charge or at least regained it but more importantly, made sure that ethical north has never strayed within the foundation.

We never hinder progress; we only support progress when it's warranted. We're not bureaucratic in nature to seek punishment; we're compassionate overseers reminding others that the Foundation operates with specific ethics and if it should occur we'll make sure it does with accountability; if it shouldn't occur we're the ones who deny it.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):

Beyond roleplay opportunities provided, we are invaluable as an administrative committee upholding Foundation leadership ethics and community culture. We shall vote on meaningful applications worthiness of leadership, influential or narrative significance including Internal Security Directors, Ethics Assistants, Omega-1 Commanders and even Committee Members.

But our work doesn't end with approval alone every single application will be more than a review based on qualifications; it will appreciate integrity, reliability, communication and professionalism mandated from any high-ranking member from the Foundation framework for appropriate in-character and out-of-character attributes as well.

In closing, we don't just approve leaders through the Ethics Committee; we ensure they're ethical, fair-minded and sensitive toward what the Foundation and community actually stands for.

One of two people who have applied that has proper experience, but I personally haven't seen you on the server or do anything.
That's to be expected.
I had a Sergeant Whitelist but due to some clerical issues, I chose to have Jack make me retake the test instead of passing me through based on my history, which I felt was unfair for most. Other than that, nothing else has really been calling my name so I've been actively doing things as a Tech Expert and SCU helping E-11 when I can and really assisting anyone around the facility. I'd like to say I'm everywhere but I didn't want to burn myself out this time so I've been taking a more methodical approach to my positioning and playing things by ear. I normally also play later in the day, and most of my hours come from early hours on the weekends and really late as I'm quite busy in the afternoon on the weekends.

As a side note for anyone, my main character I play is Robert 'Dusk' . Elias Kaine is reserved for Ethics/RSD related matters as his character lore is still active and only relevant to these two sectors.

Not going to give 100% answer on support because I dont know you, but the cheating bit is the one thing that I am most concerned about.

If I saw you around more/interacted with you more id be able to give more of a concrete answer on how id feel with you in such a position

Honestly i do belive you could be a great ecm, your app is also great it shows you actually want to put effort into this. However i would like to know what major rps did you contribute as a senior cl4 role?

Just two major contributions off the top of my head. SCP Subjugation and 8837 pacification. I completely reformatted and fixed all documentation and lore related to RSD in my time as DoR and molded it to the group you see before you. CoS I played a major contribution to the sergeant whitelist and the formatting you see today for GSD Just a few while I'm on my phone.

As GOC Major, Kito and I were the driving force behind expanding RP within the GOC as well as the roster still in use. Together, we created the GOC tryout announcement that’s still in use today. Alongside Requiem and Ifrit commonly known back then as “the Big Three”, we led the push that drastically changed the GOC’s environment, with many of the improvements you see now stemming from our efforts.

As Agency Manager, I developed a more scout-oriented approach using the drone system and helped design the tryout advertisement that’s still in circulation.

Throughout my time in CivilNetworks, I’ve done quite a lot to improve and evolve the experience. I’ve never sought direct ownership over changes, preferring instead to work quietly behind the scenes and watch others enjoy the results of the ideas and systems I helped bring forward.

Now I'm not going to hold back any punches just because you were my previous DoR.
I'm giving you my support due to the fact that I have personally seen your leadership skills and how you ran a department, giving me just cause to believe you'd be a good fit based of off that alone.
However what is strikingly bad here is the fact that I don't think many people have seen you too active (it could just be a me thing I won't lie), and you're not currently holding any CL4 position by the looks of it.

That's a fair acknowledgement. With me not finding a finite role to sit myself in lately, I haven't been in any spotlight I normally find myself in with my various positions, but I'm still there roaming around. I don't find much interesting at the moment, perhaps Site Administration, but outside of this my only other slight interest maybe perhaps E-11 again, but nothing else really is screaming my name.
