What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion would have a movie theater room added to the Personnel Wing. From there, personnel can take a break for work and watch one movie per day or a small number of YouTube videos (like a few videos from the GMod Idiot Box series) per day that are either voted on by players or are chosen by admins.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Indeed, something similar has been suggested before in the form of VHS players being replaced with media players. However, that suggestion was denied because it would allow people to inappropriate content. My suggestion is different because, if we allow players to vote on what will be played, I would have admins be able to veto movies and videos that contain inappropriate content, even if the majority of voters have chosen them. If we go with media that has been whitelisted by admins, it would allow them to pick and choose what can be played in advance.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
It would allow players to entertain themselves.
Allow players to bond with each other and have a nice laugh together, because laughter is contagious.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Many players, especially GenSec and MTF personnel, would shirk their duties. However, this can be rectified by forcing certain personnel to leave the theater in the case of an emergency, like a Code 5.
So many people talking would make it hard for people to listen to the audio of what's being played. Thankfully, this can be resolved by muting all in-game players when the movie or videos are playing, and make it so that the only way to speak is to join a channel on either Discord or TeamSpeak so that they have talk to each other outside the game.
Based on the Positives and Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Lore reason: According the SCP Foundation website, Site-65 places as much emphasis on morale as it does work, hosting special events like parties and raffles, so it is not unreasonable to believe that Site-65 would also have movie theaters for personnel.
In-game reason: As previously said, it would allow players to bond with each other.
