Bodycam changes

What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
[This suggestion aims to change the current bodycam to be on by default when spawning in, instead of having to do it every time you respawn/change job]

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
[I have not seen any bodycam suggestions that suggest this exact thing, albeit a few bodycam suggestions have been made]

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
[This removes the awkward moments of having to report an incident only for the person to say "your bodycam isn't on" because you spawned in 20 minutes ago and forgot to enable it.

It also makes no sense for it to be off by default. Bodycam is something you turn off if you have to hide an action which could get you in trouble, not something you should have to turn on to report things. It's just very annoying when you finally see something that needs to be reported to ISD or GOC and then realising it was off all along]

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
[Possible negative... Idk... I'll probably get a few comments that'll just tell me it's a skill issue and that I should get good at the game, but honestly I can't find any negatives of the bodycam being on by default]

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
[I think the positives greatly outweigh the negatives, and overall, forgetting to turn on your bodycam just kinda ruins roleplay that could have happened if it was simply on. Of course, if you turn it off on your own, and forget to disable it, then womp womp. But overall, I can't see why it shouldn't]

Even though I forgot sometimes, not remembering to have or turn on a bodycam should be punished in RP, even if it's as simple as a DMZ break or as big as letting someone who has committed treason get off Scot free.

Kind of defeats the purpose of the bodycam if its always-on, does it not? I dont think i can support this..

I never said "always on" I just said The camera should by default be on instead of off. You can obviously still turn off the camera, but I doubt the purpose of the bodycam is to "accidentally" be left off

This would just remove a significant facet of the bodycam. Granted, it's not the entire reason we have them and while we don't aim for full realism here, we aim for... Some where reasonable? Forgetting to turn on the bodycam is reasonable here, I'd say. It's an aspect of RP that doesn't really need to change - Nor does it pose any server health issues, as server health-impacting things that need to be evidenced typically tend to be rulebreaks, which don't need the bodycam because the bodycam is an IC thing; If you forgot to turn it on, the only thing you can't do with clipped footage is use it for IC purposes.

Granted, having this wouldn't necessarily be harmful... It's just not necessary.

At most, I can maybe potentially see a case for select jobs spawning with their bodycam on (AO, primarily)? But that's a stretch.

So long as you still have to clip everything, and it can still be turned off later. It would be nice for those who forget.
