Civilian name: N/A

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
Ethics Committee Assistant

What makes you the best candidate for Overseer Assistant?
I believe I have several valuable positive traits.
- I'm quite active, with this job being something I will want to be heavily involved in to learn and assist the Council.
- I'm very easy to reach and speak to, I think. As I confidently roam the site to interact with people as an ECA, this will be valuable for gathering information on departments and possibly looking into specific orders Overseers have assigned.
- I'm quite confident, sometimes. I'm able to stand my ground when necessary, but in some situations it's way harder to do so, for example, when I'm heavily underinformed. In those cases, I would usually gather the necessary evidence and information to speak with confidence.
- I'm quite knowledgeable about the Overseer council already, as I have interacted with some Overseers and have a general idea of how they operate.
- I would say I'm a quick learner, with me being able to understand concepts quickly and apply them when possible.

What are the responsibilities of Overseer Assistants in RP?
Maintaining a good image, the OSA represent the Overseers themselves, and they do not have as much freedom as ECAs with unseriousness (due to the Pencil Pusher image). They are expected to act seriously when the situation calls for it and to be very thorough when collecting information for the Council, whether it's a general report from someone or related to an order issued by the Overseers.

Overseer Assistants have a duty to go beyond and above their expectations, trying their best to fulfil the task that's been handed by an Overseer. I recommend that they take the initiative to prepare an action plan before an official order is issued (emphasis on "prepare"; they are not to start doing whatever they want, but to make their lives easier through preparation).

When an Assistant receives a task from an Overseer, they are to complete it without question. I do believe they can bring forward any ideas themselves before the order is given, but once the order is given, it should be carried out without fail. If it's impossible to complete the order due to circumstances, the assistant should explain this thoroughly and detail the attempts they have made to fulfil it.

In addition to standard OSA duties, they are Jr CL4 Personnel, meaning they are expected to carry out basic tasks that come with that responsibility.

Why do you wish to become an Overseer Assistant?
My reason for becoming an OSA might be very twisted. I wish to learn more about the Overseer Council, OOC, so I would be able to use the experiences and knowledge regarding them when I decide to apply for ECM. I do not plan to use any specific knowledge, but understand how they operate. I will also enjoy this role, as I can flag if there aren't any OSA or actual Council Members to interact with A-1 and the rest of the site.

Please give some lore about your Overseer Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in: (Lore is probably my worst part, but I will try my best)

Before his reassignment, Elias Veyr served in the Ethics Committee's offices as a standard assistant. With his standard duties being auditing departments, handling interdepartmental complaints, and ensuring that all he thought was worth reporting was passed on to the members of the Committee. To Elias, the Committee served the Foundation by upholding the mission statement regardless of circumstance.

He was aware of the Ethics Committee's authority, but over many years working under them, he found the act of pencil-pushing mundane. He has mastered the art of the act and excelled compared to other assistants, finding many issues within departments (especially Site Administration) on Site-██. Over years of observing the Ethics Committee and its work from the shadows, he came to believe he was better suited to address these failures before they emerged, knowing full well that the O5 Council was where he could push himself further and stop these incidents while he could.

Elias Veyr drafted a direct memorandum addressed to the Overseer Command requesting his reassignment.

"My current role within the Ethics Committee only permits observation of outcomes, but not influence on their origin. I feel limited, with my hands tied behind my back as I watch these failures show themselves over and over again. I am formally requesting reassignment. This request is not made in pursuit of authority; it is based solely on how I can be further utilised to assist the Foundation with the Mission Statement.

If denied, I will continue with my current duties without interruption.

If accepted, I believe my contributions to the O5 Council will reduce the need for corrective intervention by the Ethics Committee."

With this character, I kind of want to continue having strong ethical beliefs, but impose it within the O5 Council - he would be able to be corrupted as time goes on, but this is how I want to start this character off. (Sorry if it's a bit short, I hate lore)

Additional Info: I hope there isn't any issues with the app itself, if there is I can quickly correct them if pointed out

- Always active as ECA

- Had plenty of good chats and RP situations, and has helped implement some great ideas within ISD.

-Overall Great option for OSA and more than deserves the role, Ethics are losing a good one :(

I will just mention that I will still remain an ECA and probably maintain the position, but this is simply a little job on the side. The backstory is more of a convenience, as it lets me be more connected to the Character rather than forcing some crazy backstory on him.

Sorry Tom but you have a consistent problem and obsession with pulling rank in both IC and OOC. It really turns off anyone to the idea of interacting with you. You also appear to struggle with taking initiative, preferring to shut down people and ideas off the bat and never bringing any to the table. You also fail to really interact with RP or create any of your own.

I really believe you need to address and get over these issues. You can be a great candidate if you were to truly improve on the above. You do still do good things both on site and on externals.

This.

No hate to you, just you have a obsession with pulling rank. And it's not really fun to work with.

If that is okay, I would like examples of rank pulling. I have already asked Walter, but I still haven't gotten an example for this. If Claire or Cain is willing to provide, I would be more than happy to listen. This is pretty much the first time I'm hearing of this issue.

Will mention these examples can be said here; I do not mind it being public

Edit: I guess, since I'm not getting examples of these incidents, I'll mention my IC Interactions with these people before the app.

Nicky Russo (Walter) - Nicky barged into ISDW, going up to the nearest Senior Clearance Level 4 personnel, who was Victor at the time and started making policy demands. This actually wasn't shut down at first, but considering how unserious the demands were and how he came across in making them, he was slightly shut down. In this instance, I had to explain what he did wrong: he attempted to interrupt me while I was speaking, which led me to explain that I was above him in the CoC, a point Kenji supported. After the situation, he hinted at my OSA application IC as if it were a transfer he would know about?

I will mention that in the end, the original report that was done by the Tech Expert, I had to end up speaking to the Tech Expert myself because Nicky Russo IC didn't seem to have any interest in actually helping the Tech Expert, but rather saw a way to barge into ISDW to make demands, which somewhat failed. Not sure what happened after the original discussion, but in the end, something was picked up about using badge numbers more often, which is more productive than the original idea of presenting rank and name.

I will add a clip of this, as I think my main issue with how I acted is how long I let this go on.

I will say there was another issue with a wording I had done on a recruitment post for a division for ECAs which did make them seem power hungry or above others, which was simply the result of my bad wording at the time (it was lowkey rushed), I worked with the feedback and corrected the wording to fit in better and later posted an upgraded message with I think no issues on it. (This was, I believe, AFTER the comment regarding OOC rank pulling, I believe, but I could be wrong.)

Claire - As an ECA, I never really interacted with Claire; I simply worked alongside her in certain situations, but to my recollection, I never directly gave her commands. The last situation that we were in was some interview with SA, where we didn't speak. (This is as ECA, I may have given her commands on the O-1 job, but I don't tend to give many commands, I think?)

Cain - Never really interacted with Cain, except the time I had to clean up after his mass info leak regarding O-1 in /c. Forcing me to do a site-wide through a GM due to the lack of an FCOM.

I do not appreciate slander without evidence. Please let me know about any issues or share specific examples so I can improve. These comments come across as toxic and baseless, and there were no prior comments for me to improve. I thought I had presented myself as approachable, but that may not be the case if I haven't been approached about these issues.
