What O5 role are you applying for, and why (give the specific O5 number):
I’m applying for O5-4
I’m applying for O5 because I want to continue creating meaningful and enjoyable roleplay for others, but on a much larger scale. Throughout my time on the server, I have always enjoyed creating situations that give people a reason to get involved and leave them with something to remember.
I believe it would give me the opportunity to take that further. I want to create longer-running storylines, larger events, and situations that can involve multiple departments. I want to bring new ideas to the Council and help create roleplay during times where there may not normally be much happening, including late night and early morning hours.
I don't want it to simply be another position I hold. I want to actually use the position and make it meaningful. My goal is to create roleplay that feels natural, has a purpose behind it, and gives players a reason to remember their interactions with the Council.
This position I believe I could use to combine my experience in leadership with my creativity and understanding of the server. I want to use that experience to create better roleplay, more indepth roleplay, and make O5-4 a position that actually contributes to the server.
What makes you the best candidate for the O5 Council?:
I believe what makes me a strong candidate is the amount of experience I have gained from working in different command positions and being involved in the development of the site. I have held positions including Site Director, Site Advisor, Executive Researcher, and Director of Research. Each of these positions has given me a different perspective on how the site operates and how decisions made by leadership affect the people below them.
As Site Director, I helped rebuild RSD and worked on the transition of Specialist Researcher. I have also been involved in the transition of a new Senior role within GSD. These are examples of where I have worked to improve departments rather than simply holding a position.
I’ve made difficult decisions when they are necessary. I have removed inactive personnel and made calls that other people were hesitant to make. I believe leadership isn't just about making the popular decision; sometimes you have to make the decision that is best for the department and the site, even when it may not be the easiest one.
I have also consistently worked on creating roleplay. One of the larger projects I have created is my ongoing correction roleplay involving CL4 personnel. I won't go into the full details of it, but it has been focused on addressing poor behaviour and creating an actual roleplay scenario around it rather than simply punishing people and moving on.
I have also worked on Anderson Robotics roleplay, which is now beginning again, as well as Site Dictator roleplay involving cameras and surveillance. More recently, I have been working on changing the way D-Block is presented by bringing larger amounts of GENSEC into the area while I and several technicians move through it. These are all examples of how I try to create roleplay around normal server activity rather than waiting for something to happen.
Alongside this, I have created multiple policies and systems to help Site Administration grow, and I am still continuing to work on improving it. I don't believe leadership should be about sitting in a position and waiting for other people to make things happen. I actively look for areas that can be improved and try to make changes where I believe they are needed.
Overall, I believe my combination of command experience, willingness to make difficult decisions, involvement in improving departments, and experience creating roleplay makes me a strong candidate for the O5 Council. I have already spent a large amount of my time helping improve the site from different positions. I want to take that experience into the Council and use it to create larger-scale roleplay and contribute to the server at a higher level.
