Why are you applying for the Chief of Security?
I am applying for Chief of Security because I believe I have the leadership, communication, and decision-making skills needed to lead the Security Department effectively. I want to take on more responsibility and help keep the facility safe, organized, and prepared for different situations.

I believe a good Chief should be able to remain calm under pressure, make fair decisions, and communicate clearly with their personnel and other departments. I would also like to help newer Security members improve by giving them guidance, answering questions, and setting a good example for them to follow.

Another reason I am interested in the position is because I want to help improve the overall activity and professionalism of Security. I would encourage teamwork, proper communication, and good roleplay while making sure members understand their responsibilities.

Overall, I want to use this position to contribute more to the server, support the Security Department, and help create a professional and enjoyable environment for both Security members and the rest of the facility.

What makes you suitable for Chief of Security?:
I believe I am suitable for Chief of Security because I have the leadership, communication, and decision-making skills needed to handle the responsibilities of the position. I can remain calm during stressful situations and make reasonable decisions while keeping the safety of personnel as a priority.

I understand that being Chief of Security requires more than simply giving orders. It requires being able to communicate with your department, work with other departments, handle incidents properly, and make sure Security personnel are following the correct procedures. I am also willing to help train and guide lower-ranking members so they can become better and more confident members of the department.

I believe I can set a good example through professionalism, activity, teamwork, and maturity. I would treat the position seriously and make sure that Security remains organized and effective while still providing enjoyable and professional roleplay for everyone.

Overall, I believe my ability to lead, communicate, stay calm under pressure, and work well with others makes me a strong candidate for Chief of Security.

What are the responsibilities of the Chief of Security in RP?:
The Chief of Security is responsible for overseeing the entire Security Department and making sure Security personnel are performing their duties correctly. They are responsible for maintaining order, organizing Security operations, and ensuring that personnel follow the rules and procedures of the facility.

The Chief should also coordinate with other departments during incidents such as breaches, riots, or other emergencies. They are expected to make important decisions under pressure, manage Security personnel, and handle situations involving misconduct or poor performance when necessary.

Another important responsibility is training and mentoring lower-ranking Security members, helping them understand their duties and improve their performance. The Chief should also set a good example for the department by being professional, fair, active, and respectful.

Overall, the Chief of Security is responsible for leading the department, maintaining its professionalism and effectiveness, and making sure Security contributes to good and enjoyable RP across the facility.

Please give some lore about your Chief of Security character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Name: █████████
Nationality: Russian Federation
Former Occupation: Russian Military Personnel
Current Occupation: SCP Foundation Security Department
Current Position: Chief of Security
Clearance Level: Level █
Status: Active
Military Records: Partially Redacted

Background

█████████ was born in Russia and grew up in a relatively disciplined household. From an early age, he developed an interest in military service and eventually joined the Russian military after completing his education.

During his military career, he was deployed to Dagestan, where he spent several years participating in patrols, security operations, and other classified assignments. His time in the region exposed him to dangerous situations and taught him how to operate effectively under pressure.

He became known among his unit for being disciplined, observant, and willing to take responsibility when situations went wrong. Unlike some of his fellow soldiers, he preferred to think before acting and believed that unnecessary risks could cost lives.

The █████████ Incident

During one classified operation in Dagestan, █████████'s unit was involved in an incident that resulted in multiple casualties. The exact circumstances surrounding the operation remain unknown.

The official Russian military report contains several sections that have been completely redacted.

[REDACTED]

█████████ was one of the few surviving members of the unit. Following the incident, his military career changed significantly. He became more reserved and developed a strong belief that a leader should never treat their personnel as expendable.

Several months later, he left active military service.

Foundation Recruitment

After leaving the military, █████████ attempted to live a normal civilian life. This did not last particularly long.

He was eventually approached by an individual claiming to represent a private security organization. The organization was, in reality, connected to the SCP Foundation.

Initially, █████████ was skeptical of the Foundation and its purpose. After being shown information regarding anomalous objects and containment procedures, he accepted a position within Foundation Security.

He began his Foundation career as a lower-ranking Security Officer.

His military experience immediately became useful, but he quickly discovered that Foundation Security was nothing like conventional military service. There were no simple battlefields or predictable enemies. Instead, he was expected to protect personnel from anomalies, containment breaches, hostile detainees, and occasionally even threats originating from within the Foundation itself.

Rise Through Security

Over several years, █████████ progressed through the Security Department.

He became heavily involved in containment breach responses and facility emergencies. His ability to stay calm during chaotic situations earned him the respect of other Security personnel.

He also became known for being strict when necessary, but fair toward his personnel. He believed that discipline was important, but he refused to punish people simply to demonstrate authority.

Eventually, he was promoted to a senior leadership position within Security.

After a major incident resulted in the previous Chief being removed from command, █████████ was selected as the replacement.

He accepted the position under one condition:

“I will protect the personnel under my command. If that becomes impossible, I will make sure they know why.”

Current Role

As Chief of Security, █████████ oversees the Security Department and is responsible for maintaining facility security, organizing personnel, responding to major incidents, and coordinating with other departments.

Despite his high rank, he frequently interacts with lower-ranking Security personnel and takes an active role in training.

His leadership style is heavily influenced by his military past. He expects discipline, proper communication, and professionalism, but he also understands the consequences of poor leadership.

He does not tolerate unnecessary deaths, abuse of authority, or Security personnel treating their rank as an excuse to act recklessly.

1. The Missing Report

A Foundation archivist discovers that part of █████████'s military record has been recovered. The document contains information about the classified operation in Dagestan that he has never discussed.

The information raises questions about why the report was redacted and whether the incident was actually connected to something anomalous.

2. The Old Soldier

A Foundation employee discovers that someone connected to █████████'s former military unit may still be alive. This person possesses information about what actually happened during the █████████ incident.

This could lead to investigations, confrontations, and eventually the truth being uncovered.

3. Security Crisis

A major containment breach places the entire facility under lockdown. With several senior personnel unavailable, █████████ must coordinate Security and make difficult decisions about which areas can be defended and which personnel need to be evacuated.

The situation would test whether his leadership philosophy is actually effective when everything begins falling apart.

4. Internal Investigation

Several Security personnel are suspected of abusing their authority and covering up incidents. █████████ begins an internal investigation, forcing him to decide whether to protect his department's reputation or expose the people responsible.

5. The Redacted Past

More information regarding his time in Dagestan begins appearing in Foundation databases without explanation.

Some documents suggest that the operation he participated in may have involved something that was not supposed to exist.

█████████ refuses to discuss the subject.

For the first time since joining the Foundation, he begins questioning whether his recruitment was actually a coincidence.

Character Development

The main theme of the character would be the difference between being a soldier and a leader.

As a soldier, █████████ was expected to follow orders.

As Chief of Security, he is expected to make those orders.

His story would focus on him dealing with his past, protecting the personnel under his command, and slowly discovering that some parts of his military history may have been deliberately hidden from him.

The truth behind the Dagestan operation would remain a long-term mystery, allowing the character to develop through multiple RP situations rather than having his entire backstory revealed immediately.

Can you post your ktime for us?

I appreciate that you're able to reflect on the bigger picture with your answers as to "why" you are applying, but I would have liked to see more insight into the policy / structure responsibility of CoS rather than your current answers which seem more appropriate for a Captain's application. People have to remember that CoS are more or less the CEOs of the GSD, they should be executives that are responsible for drafting and implementing sweeping structural and policy changes, not just leading the department on a day-to-day basis. You touch on this briefly in your "what makes you suitable" when you talk about collaboration between other departments, but there's no mention of, for example, creating RP for the department, drafting and setting policy and being responsible for coordinating structural/organisational changes where needed.

I've definitely seen you around and I believe I recognise you as someone who makes a good impression, but for the sake of everyone else we'll go over your logged contributions to see what you've brought to GSD in the (soon to be) month you've been a Captain. You've logged 8 RCL/HWL tryouts, you haven't interviewed or scouted any Sergeants, and as far as I can tell you haven't contributed to any operations yet. Are you able to expand upon what you've accomplished as a leader in GSD that makes you fit for this role?

I'll ask the same questions to you as I did the other applicants:

1) In your opinion, what are some of the best parts of GSD currently? What are some of the worst? How would you - as CoS - sustain the best parts & change the worst?

2) What kind of operations & RP would you want to spearhead as CoS?

3) Have you spent any time with US GSD, and if so do you have any insight on how they do things versus how we do things?

+/- Support leaning -Support - You're currently less than a month into your first time being Jr. CL4. I believe it would be better to spend some more time as Captain, making contributions & showing your promise for this role by hosting/spearheading operations, scouting & interviewing potential leaders, creating RP and demonstrating how you becoming CoS would make it easier for you to benefit GSD.

1:
In my opinion, some of the best parts of GSD Is the Leadership, teamwork, and the amount of RP opportunities available during breaches and other incidents. I also like that members can progress through the different jobs like (SCU/SRU) and take on more responsibility.

One of the worst parts can be inconsistent professionalism and communication between members. As CoS, I would work on this through regular training, better communication, and making sure higher-ranking members actively support their subordinates.

I would also encourage more organized operations and training exercises to keep GSD active and give members more opportunities for meaningful RP. My goal would be to keep the good teamwork and activity while improving professionalism and communication.

2:
As CoS, I would want to organize Tasks that give GSD more meaningful RP and involve other departments. Some examples would be scheduled security drills, breach response exercises, escort operations, and facility-wide lockdown scenarios.

I would also like to run investigations into security incidents, missing personnel, and possible internal threats. These operations could involve departments such as MTF, Medical, and Research, creating more interaction across the facility.

My main goal would be to create organized and enjoyable RP that gives GSD members something to do besides simply guarding doors and responding to breaches.

3:
No, I have not spent any significant time with US GSD, so I cannot give an accurate comparison between how they operate and how we do things. I would rather be honest about that than make assumptions. If given the opportunity, I would be interested in learning how they operate and seeing if there are any practices that could benefit our GSD.
I understand where you are coming from, and I agree that more time in the position can be beneficial. However, I also believe that progression can happen quickly when someone is actively contributing and showing that they are ready for more responsibility. I went from Sergeant to Captain in around two weeks, so my progression within GSD has already been fairly quick.

I understand that becoming CoS is a much bigger responsibility, and I am willing to continue proving myself through operations, RP, and helping develop other leaders. I just believe that time alone should not be the only factor when deciding whether someone is ready for a position.

I don't particularly have any interactions with you during my UK visits but I've heard positive things from the other captains. That being said you've mentioned within this thread about the jump from sgt-cpt and likened it to this jump.

The jump to Jr cl4 to Sr cl4 is massive, you're expected to be responsible for the entire department out of character, documents, behavior, activity as well as driving roleplay forward in character.

I am curious as it's not mentioned in your application if you have contributed towards documents, roster work or any out of character aspects of being captain?

Additionally you mentioned having no knowledge of US gensec. While it's in no way a requirement (to my knowledge) there have been some great partnerships between both servers chiefs recently driving forward content changes for the department so if successful it would be nice to see that continue down the line.

Neutral-Negative

Addendum: Good chance its the wrong firefly, so only the get more experience comment applies.

Several things:
I believe you are a new GSD captain, so would need to see that you behave for a few months before i could neutral it.

You haven't posted a recent ban you had received, in relation to a blacklist as well, so i view that as deceptive and probably deniable on the onset.

Due to both being a month ago, id say give it a few months of good behaviour as a GSD captain.

There are so many different "fireflies", i didn't check this apps steam ID to it.

Withdrawn if its not you.

Also, you were discharged as a full corporal in NU7, so you can probably change it to full corporal vs lance.
