I first became a captain over 11 months ago (346 days) - I know many of you will be complaining that I had not stayed for another 19 days. I say this because, I will be resigning for the final time as a General Security Captain. I loved this department because it was always changing. Now, with GENSEC on its climb back to its former glory I cannot help but reminisce on those days when I was first a Captain. Many of you will not remember those days but I mean it when I say that GENSEC was the best department during those times (According to Steve "Riot" it was DEA however). Over my time, I've met many people and worked with just as many.Why am I leaving?
After 11 months of working nothing but GENSEC, it does become boring. Whats more boring? Being more than capable for a role according to many people and being denied for reasons that make 0 sense. See, according to those same people, there is a level of bias in the highest ranks. "You got denied for not being in their friend group" -Nu-7 CO. I think sometimes we forget that it is just a game but this game requires a lot of care and attention if you decide to make certain roles. But imagine spending almost a full year on a department that is constantly clowned upon and then being told by someone on a high chair that the department is given all the resources and care that it needs. No. Out of all the people capable of making change I can think of maybe 3 people who actually do said change. So, surely the people who do that change would be held in high regard right? No, not really. Ive been around for all of these eras of tons of departments and the server as a whole on one singular department and its declined. Sure some people would have described me as a minge but surely not now right after not even making a singular joke for the past 2 months? No.The way my friend put it is this:
"Ace, tell me what's wrong with what I'm about to say: If you reapplied for Chief you might get it"
"Ace, if you were a Captain for 11 months and you have a chance at a position in a game that no one else is aiming for and a slot is free then that is a really really big issue"
If none of you are able to understand what the fella above said:
There has got to be a level of bias or a level of hatred that is fueling the choices of some senior people for someone to spend 343 days as a position to not be promoted ON A VIDEO GAME. I have tried my very best to not point a singular finger but seriously. To the friend group of people who are in on this: You ruin the fun of a game.

Final Message:
No matter who you are, where you stand, whatever your level is. If you chase hard enough you can catch anything.
