Why are you applying for the Chief of Security?
I'm applying for Chief of Security as a result of me wanting to improve GenSec and continue the reforms from under Jack and Carter's tenure as Chief of Security.
What makes you suitable for Chief of Security?:
In the past as a Captain of the General Security Department, I was working in coordination with Jack on the reforming of the bulk of its main forces. I wished to shift it towards a responsive force within the site as a whole, particularly through the Tactical Response Team. This effort was focused on the expansion of responsibilities outside of D-Block, ensuring smaller response times - trying to make GenSec not just reactive, but somewhat proactive if a code was called out.

Moving forwards, I intend to expand these reforms by positioning GenSec as a force dedicated furthermore to generalized security, performing for more patrols with ID checks, escorting non-combative staff to safety, and garrisoning key areas like D-Block, Entrance Zone checkpoint, and the Light Containment Zone checkpoint as well. I want to permit GenSec to be seen everywhere and anywhere - allowing for them to do their jobs as the main combative department on the whole of the server. I also aim to reinforce its authority within LCZ and D-Block in particular, ensuring that while we continue to support other combative departments in their times of need, we have a disciplined & capable force that has a defined jurisdictional authority with the capacity to do what it needs to.

I believe my suiting for this role comes from the fact that I approach systems with a mindset oriented on constant iteration. I wish to identify inefficiencies, hash it out with the members of GenSec, and implement solutions.

My goal is not simply to change this department - it is to leave it better than when I entered it.
What are the responsibilities of the Chief of Security in RP?:

The main responsibilities of the Chief of Security are in ensuring the following:
  1. Oversee the security of D-Block and the wider site, ensuring that all areas are properly staffed and monitored through patrols and maintenance of manpower.
  2. Direct and coordinate recontainment efforts, working alongside MTFs to ensure that responses are not only properly supported by security forces - but efficient aswell.
  3. Re-establish order during raids or other major incidents - organizing defensive responses, reinforcing critical positions, and maintaining presence of Combative chain of command to stabilize the situation.
  4. Supervise and enforce escorting protocol for any non-combatives, ensuring their safety while maintaining adherence to security protocols.
  5. Maintain overall order and discipline within GenSec - setting expectations for conduct, ensuring regulations are followed, and addressing breakdowns in communications from authority.
  6. Coordinate with other departments to develop a unified threat response to avoid fragmentation or miscommunication.
  7. Develop and implement policies, reforms, and improvements within GSD to increase effectiveness and professionalism.
  8. To serve as the final authority within the General Security Department.
Please give some lore about your Chief of Security character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Alfie Bailey was born to a family in Boston, their native home – that wasn’t the Emerald Island from beyond the waves. They had left during the Great Starving of the perfidious Trevelyan in 1845, evacuating what was their God-given soil for New York City – the New World in all its opportunity. The family had continued, however, to tell tales of Ireland to their offspring, but also managed to gain more stories in 1861 when their new motherland separated in twine. Alfie’s ancestor joined the 69th New York Infantry, the Irish Brigade, and warred to the end of the War. This started off the tradition of every generation having some offspring joining the U.S. military in some regard.

Alfie joined the U.S. Army in 1998 just before the Twin Towers fell, intending on serving his country. For his contract, the man was a part of Operation Enduring Freedom, aiding in the dismantlement of the Afghani Taliban Regime. Yet, among the shattered compounds of Kandahar and the mountain passes near Tora Bora, Bailey’s unit would come across stories from locals about artefacts near villages that had never been touched by modern hands. Shepherds whispered of stones that bled light when struck and wells that refilled themselves overnight.

At first, the unit laughed it off. They were superstitions of a superstitious people, the kind of thing that came with little sleep. But soon, an incident outside Gardez came to light – with a patrol led by him finding a clay tablet half-buried in the dirt, covered in unrecognisable writing. Their interpreter refused to translate, claiming the words were “… not meant for speaking.”. The next day, a grouping of infantry disembarked from a black APC with gear that only served US Special Operations Forces (USSOF). They quickly took charge, having the paperwork for a ‘cultural heritage task force’, though was clearly completely overgeared for any expeditionary force of that purpose.

His unit was assigned to secure the outer cordon while the team moved in, with some civilian ‘historians’ in toe that carried some kind of canister. This was accomplished seamlessly, as the cultural heritage task force then pulled each of the unit’s members into a room, where they seemingly all forgot the transpiring events. All for Bailey, for when he was pulled in – he was in fact given an offer of joining a special task force called the ‘Special Collection Priority’ taskforce. He’d be tasked with aiding the researchers in testing these artefacts or “… going on your merry way, forgetting all that had just happened.”

The man signed the contract – and was whisked away to snowy Canada, where he remains.

STORYLINES:
My original intention has remained unchanged from when I was an aspiring Sergeant applying for Captain. I aim to continue filling the role of a generalized security department to operate beyond the confines of D-Block and take on a more active presence across the site.

A key part of this is to evolve GSD from simply the entry-level combative department to one that maintains a consistent & visible presence across the whole of the site. This means better coordination with the MTFs, more clearly defined responsibilities, and a stronger role in day-to-day operations beyond escorting and stationing. These goals were consistently something I mentioned in meetings with Chiefs of the past and also Captains - and they remain a key tenet of what I wish to focus on.

Furthermore, I wish to support roleplay opportunities with other departments - especially the Research Department. I wish to have these interactions be less extractive or one-sided, but fostering engagement that benefits cooperation between both departments.

My intent, ultimately, is to ensure that GSD is not viewed as passive or limited - but as a reliable and consistent force that actively contributes to site-wide operations.

Alfie is a good choice, and I believe has been a decent representative of GSD. Although, I do believe he should try to act more professional at times. Other than that, he is a good candidate.

Absolutely wonderful GENSEC leader, I have looked up to and admired Alfie for some time and he has partly made me the GSD Captain I am today, I hope Alfie is considered as he has the backing of most of GSD, and is highly respected/looked up to as a leader. We hold much love for youAlfie, I hope you ascend to Chief, we need solid figures like you to lead by example as you have been! :)

(If you get it don't burn yourself out! You will do excellent.)

You are probably the most well known and active captain however I have a few points. There has been issues with from my eyes with your visions of GSD. Sure GSD isn't just D-block it is site security however D-block is the main thing GSD as a whole is built around. I think it is good to keep this in mind.

Additionally you are still pretty new and seem to in recent months have a pattern of punishments.

I think we'll never fully agree on this, I feel. I don't know if I can agree with making this one particular area being the basis of all of GSD, especially with how underdeveloped it certainly is. And admittedly, my vision is more of a total force that's shaped around defending the site as a totality.

So yeah I can respect that, and you & I have talked about this.

The latter part, I can't exactly disagree with - one part being about me being new and another about my objective string of punishments.

As someone that primarily plays dclass, I interact with Alfie a lot and he has helped me with personal projects and always gets me work permits <3
I've also had a very positive experience with him, myself being in TRT

I'm gonna be real with you alfie you are a bit egocentric sometimes and that's definitely a drawback on your position however I would be amiss as everyone else here to ignore your:
A - Your dedication to this department has been flat out and deserves some recognition
B - Your time served is also a compliment to your dedication and loyalty to your department and shows a true lining of passion for it. It deserves recognition and I think out of the current candidates, you are definitely worthy of the spot.
