What does this suggestion change/add/remove
This suggestion would let Departmental Leads change the application format for their Jr. CL4 position with an SL request. The application formats would either have to be split into UK/US, or cooperation between the UK and US leadership would be required.

The Director of Research would be able to change Executive.
The Director of ISD would be able to change Inspector and Commissioner.
The Director of Medicine would be able to change Consultant.
The Director of DEA would be able to change Special Agent and Manager.
The Chief of Security would be able to change Captain.

Additionally, I suggest that the Site Director would be able to change Site Advisor.

Has something similar been suggested before?
No.

Possible Positives of the suggestion
Lets RP Leaders have more control over the application process into their respective department
Lets RP Leaders get rid of “fluff” questions that would be better suited for the interview for example

Possible Negatives of the suggestion
More work for platform (?) team to keep editing the application format

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted
There’s practically no downside to this and gives department leads more control over their department from A-Z.

Please leave feedback if you have it and remember to up/downvote the suggestion.

Good in theory, not really maintainable in practise.

The interview process you can put in place can be what you control to filter in your prospective CL4+

This just seems to be unnecessary workload for a volunteer fueled team.
SL requests are, to my knowledge, done on a "im not busy right now, ill do this why not" system. I've had SL requests sit for 2 weeks, I've had SL requests sit for 15 minutes.

They certainly wouldn't be high-priority tickets.

Suggestions for changes might be acceptable but 100% control wouldn't. To be clear, I understand you're asking for departmental leads to have the option to submit an SL request to have a CL4 application format changed- upon which an SL member would change it for them. But the final say would have to lie with SSL/NL as to whether or not those changes be implemented.

The application formats exist so that people don't overwrite or underwrite why they're qualified to begin with, though also to give people an idea of what to say at all. While questions and answers are certainly going to be different between departments, they can't be so different, long or short that it becomes too difficult or just plain ineffective for applications to be made. [Ineffective as in the applications may not contain enough content to be worth judging a person's merit.]

As it stands, they already have the ability to ask but they don't have the authority to request for it to be changed without needing authorization from SSL+ and it needs to stay that way for the aforementioned reasons.

This is a very unknown fact, though. Making it an official SL request thing would make it happen more often.

Additionally, nowhere in my suggestion does it say it has to be accepted. SL requests can get denied, you know. If a DoM wants to make the application just someone's steamID and character name I trust the SL handling the request to think "this is stupid".

Denied.

Hi @peep69

Thank you for the suggestion, however at this time I do not feel its a good idea to separate these and create more confusion and attempts to split up applications which ultimately will have people trying to change join requirements on the daily (I know what players are like), If there are issues with tests, I certainly don't mind there being an SL request or contacting SSL to see about having the questions modified, but these must be agreed upon by both servers and also get agreement from SSL / NL to make sure they are fair in what is being requested.

We are more than welcome to take feedback on applications, but I don't think in the long run this will work as intended and just devolve int constant attempts to change everything else and further split what is required on each server. (Example A: Assistants Slots - being told they wont be increased any more, still get weekly suggestions despite being told no)

So to wrap this up with a nice lil cute bow, If there is a need to change an application or a question isnt fit for purpose, please work with the UK / US Research Teams to discuss why it doesn't work and what question should replace it then propose that to SSL to review and they collectivley will decide if its right to change.
