If you still have texture issues after downloading everything: Close Gmod > right-click Gmod > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of game Files Then restart Gmod, if this does not work then restart steam and do the same.

It's an extra feature that looks cool. Also when holding things like keys, it's useful to actually see what you're pointing at etc.
