For how long have you played on CG SCP: Somewhere between a year and a year and a half.
Age:22
In what country are you located?: USA
Time zone: EST
Character name(s):Abdul Lanahan
Civilian name: John Lanahan
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): USA
Do you have a mic?: Yes
-
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
-Currently I have whitelist for Combat Medic, Internal Affairs Agent, and External Affairs Agent. I have held E-11 Specialist in the past and Sr. Executive.
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
-7 warns for various things over the course of playing for almost a year and a half. Most at the beginning when I was learning which are like fear rp or fail rp type of warns. One ban due to mental health concerns.
Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
-I’ve got a lot of experience in the role and it’s a home away from home. I just enjoy helping others and showing them the ropes. The things that can be built in rp are just wonderful experiences that I’d like to experience again. Now I probably won’t play for 50+ hours a week like I use to. I could definitely do 20 to 30 hours of Exec time a week. I know that I will be able to contribute to the Research Department as I have before. I am known to do lectures which are my favorite way of teaching. All in all, I just enjoy teaching others and being a guide. I've got the free time to do it and the wisdom to impart. Its just something that I have always really enjoyed in this community.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
-I have previous experience in the role and have done well with it before. I was Director Of BoE, Director of CRB, and had a group at the time which was approved, called LRT, and was approved by Dpt. Director Friedhart, Dpt. Director Keagan, and Dpt. Director Uriah. LRT was cut due to mental concerns, and I had to take a break. I have taken time to reflect and found solid balance in life. I take initiative and enjoy helping others. I have a collection of lectures that I use to give people lectures. In BoE I mainly taught people how to teach others and to give lectures. I worked with Athena and Gordon Gudgen when I was over there, and we did a lot of good work. In CRB I was mainly assigning orders to people and keeping the operation moving. When I took charge as Director of CRB I decided that it was best to close it down and to make CRB research focus rather than sale focused. I did not get far with that though tried my best.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
-Quite a few. I was showing Dpt. Director Elias one of my 35 page documents. I take my personal standards pretty high, though, I understand the core parts of a document and would be happy to bring a document into the interview phase. Essentially though a document needs to follow the format given by Research policy at the time. Right now, I believe it is a title, index, SCP info, goal of study, participants and required items, hypothesis, test, conclusion, and authorization.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
-To guide, mentor, and lead researchers. They enforce the policies that we are bound by. Executive Researchers are the backbone of the department. Being Executive Researcher is about being calm and patient. Able to handle any question that people have and direct people to the source material. Execs do many things like sign documents, grade them, give lectures, do group activities, and special research projects.
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
-Abdul Lanahan has been with the foundation for some time as a tenured member. Their lore includes running previous sub divisions. Abdul Lanahan also took some time away for mental health, approved by the Ethics Committee and RSD. Abdul has light thaumatalogical abilities, though is not able to do much beyond levitate a coin. Abdul participated in Project Blue with Barry Uriah and was one of the leads assigned to it. Project Blue is often what is believed to cause Abdul’s absence
