What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Allows to to 'forget' the name of chemicals in stash. When you first get a chemical, for example from sampling, it appears as 'unknown chemical' or something like that. When you analyse them, they become named as their proper chemical. Add the ability to revert this analysis, so chemicals can go back to being 'unknown chemical' if they're in your stash or inventory.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not as far as I'm aware
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Allows for more RP, as people can't just know the chemical by picking it up.
Also feels more realistic, as if you don't put a label on it, how do they know what it is?
Also allows for trickery. Lets say you have a chemical you aren't meant to have, and ISD stop and question you. If they know what it is by picking it up, you'll be in trouble even though THEY didn't analyse it. If you could revert it to 'unknown chemical', they'll either have to guess, let you go or make the strenuous walk to RSD wing to analyse it. Adds more interro RP in general.
Can also be funny to trick people.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Can be abused for malicious reasons.
Dev time.
Accidental 'forgetting' of chems.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I feel like, if rules are in place so people can't abuse it, it could be really cool. Very niche uses, but adds more RP and realism to the server. Not everyone should know about this random chemical. A d-class picks up class F and knows it's class F. But if it was 'forgotten', it can be used and shown without being 'metagamed'.
