What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion would add a simple system in which SA and departmental leads can store funds for their department in a designated vault, which can then be later accessed for requirements such as payouts, projects, and other departmental situations. It will function in a way that Departmental leads and SA+ can check what money is being taken and added as well, to ensure that it is not misused. Access would be for Jr CL4+, with Jrs requiring authorisation from either SA or their department leader/s.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
To my knowledge, this type of suggestion has not been brought up so far.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1. One benefit I can think of is that it would be easier to keep track of departmental funds. Rather than having to rely on personal book-keeping, funds can be tracked coming in and out of the bank similar to fridge logs, which will lead to less cases of accidental (or intentional) misuse of funds. This therefore makes it easier for both SA+, and the department themselves.
2. Additionally, it will allow SA to deposit set amounts of funding into the vault directly rather than having to give it to directors or other CL4 members of a department on a whim, and funding documents can be used to keep track of what the money was used for.
3. It may also be a useful tool to keep track of who can be trusted with funds. If someone abuses this system, SL can check the logs of this bank system and punish whoever is necessary, as well as easily being able to refund any stolen money directly to the bank.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
1. Could possibly be annoying to implement development wise. It could simply be a modified WF system but with actual money, or it may need to be its own system.
2. As with something like this, there is always the case that the money is misused, and in some cases, difficult to prove that it was misused.
3. There is also a possibility that when the funds are needed that there is no-one available to authorise the use of the funds, which could delay reimbursments, payments, and projects.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
This is my first suggestion, so I apologise if it isn't the best, but I feel like it would be a useful management tool for all departments and the moderation team as it concentrates funds into a single place, preventing confusion on money-keeping and such. Additionally, if someone leaves a department there is a much lower chance of them taking departmental funds with them.
Thank you for reading my suggestion
