What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
The Issue:
The issue here is that after dying fully and being in the state where your only revival chance is being defibbed there is instantly no more RP. It also pushes the dead people away from waiting to be defibbed even if they would've otherwise because they expect to not be revived:
There is two (2) ways I see of this being able to be solved, which are both below (I deem the first way as the easiest, but I do not know).
The First Way:
When a person dies, instead of forcing them to the "death screen" with the flashing pictures of the map, KDA, and respawn button it instead places their camera above themselves in a way that they can see people who are right next to their body as well as being able to see chat from these people and hear their voices. This way would also give them access to /it and /me to RP around.
This is likely the easiest way, a person can technically already type (using some methods) when dead but has no way to get back responses or even know what is being done - this would simply be to place their camera at their body upon death and allow more freely for them to speak / hear people (in the ways mentioned).
A person in this state would only be able to be revived using a defib, and would otherwise replace the regular death screen (perhaps you can have the option to go to the death screen from this rather than fully replacing it).
The Second Way:
After a person has been put into the prone / on back state and takes enough damage they are put into a "dead state" - there body is nocollided, they are blocked from using voice chat / comms / radio and similarly to the easy way can do /me or /it to RP around. They cannot move their body at all, but are otherwise the exact same as they would be when in the on back state.
A person in this state would only be able to be revived using a defib, and would otherwise be able to force bleed out to the normal death menu.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
No Clue
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Positives have been written in the original section, but to simplify them:
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
More Metagaming - I do not think this would be an issue really but it was brought up so I must mention it, talking when dead means a person has the option to metagame / powergame such as by doing "/me was killed by a DC wearing an E-11 PVT outfit". I do not think this would be an issue because we have access to chat logs and could easily check /it and /me if needed.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Overall, the reason that dying in the current system reduces RP is because there is no RP that can come after death. Neither player (alive and dead, including the killer) has ANY ability to RP around it.
You cannot check if a body died from gunfire, being eaten by an SCP, or cyanide nor whether they had special RP related things occur (e.g if they were tortured or amnesticated beforehand).
There is a reason why A LOT of serious RP servers when someone is put into the dead state they are still able to type / look around - because it is a massive bonus to the available RP without requiring a third party such as GM from assisting you (which you cannot even call when dead).
I also believe this could help GMs who do investigative RP with not requiring to use a ragdoll for every dead body even if it was from a player involved.

To be allowed to do /me or /it when dead, or just generally having an extra dying state where you can do the same thing, would massively increase RP for people and deaths around them. This is a situation I've seen dozens of times in which RP has been reduced because either the dead body is unable to do anything or doesn't know RP is occurring around them.
Please give me your yummy comments, so I may improve this or feel joy based on them!

- Medical loses medical RP for doing checks of a body, any /me they try to do will be lost because the body both doesn't see the message and cannot answer it:
- To check how a body died (within reason)
- What injuries the person had
- If anything special happened beforehand
- If the body was tortured / amnesticated
- ISD loses investigative RP for doing checks of the body, any /me they try to do will be lost because the body both doesn't see the message and cannot answer it:
- See above medical checks
- The identity / rank of the body
- The weapons / items that were on or missing from the body
- The dead player loses all RP relating to their death, they cannot do any /me physically and they cannot see other peoples messages:
- The dead person can't RP all of the above
- They can't RP any personality in death, referencing their character lore / conditions (e.g if the character was missing a certain organ or part)
- The killer cannot do any RP with the body, they cannot do any /me for the same reason as medical / ISD:
- The killer cannot do any organ stealing RP (there is 0 way for ISD to know if it is done)
- The killer cannot leave information, notes, etc
- The killer cannot check anything about the victim
- By being forced to sit in a silent waiting screen with 0 knowledge the dead person is more likely to press respawn and not wait for someone to defib them.
- Defibbing is currently, 90% of the time, a tool used in active combat because no one wants to wait to see if someone will show up with defibs in time. Even if someone saw the death and is screaming "/c MEDIC to X LOCATION, DEFIB ASAP" the dead person has no idea.
- This has affected me, and I know it has affected a few CL5/Sr CL4 players directly, where to wait for the medic we need to be told OOCly in teamspeak "We have called for a medic, don't respawn yet to see if one can be gotten".
- By not waiting to be defibbed it reduced any possible RP that may come from being revived.
