What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This would add a key you could press to put your weapon on safety and prevent it from firing while the safety is on. Although a safety function already exists (E+R), this introduces a key toggle, rather than a single mouse press.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not that I could find. 'gun' was too common of a search.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
• Prevents the issue where tabbing back into the game sometimes causes your weapon to fire automatically until the player clicks again
• Realism, guns in real life have this.
• Gives players more control over their weapons, especially in non-combat situations.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
• People could forget to take their weapon off safety when a threat is near and result in them dying
Based on the Positives &Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
The benefits outweigh the negatives. It's pretty much just a safety feature and would be optional, so it isn't a forced limitation.
