What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Re add the armor packs that NL removed

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
No

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Easier access to armor
Not punishing the entire playerbase because one stupid juggernaut was abusing the mechanic
Players will not be mad at NL for making poor decisions

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Dumb players might possibly abuse it by sitting on CI jugg and holding garage for an hour on low pop because SOP isn't locked in (just dont add them to the garage armory then, no need to remove them from everywhere on the map because it was abused in one single place)
Dev time

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Mass community support, should have never been removed in the first place

Hi Guys,

I'll give you all some explanation for why this was removed
  1. The Armory changes done around a month ago have made the armor batteries effectively redundant.
    • All Armouries now wipe their cooldown when you spawn, meaning you can always get your 100 armor when you respawn on jobs that don't start at max (e.g. ISD)
  2. Infinite batteries resulted in players staying glued to them, or only staying within an easy access distance of them
    • For example, people retreating to medbay every time they take damage to regen their armor in seconds for free, or Juggernauts sitting on the batteries permanently to farm free health during raids
  3. Every armor battery (excluding inside Combat Medic bunks) on the map was placed directly adjacent to or on top of an existing armory
    • This means people can circumvent the existing intended 5 minute cooldown for refilling their armor, and makes it much harder to actually kill a player.

I spoke to NL about it yesterday, and I am going to speak to SSL about it again at the next staff meeting on Sunday. For now, I have told @Johnathan Doe he can replace the batteries on USA, but the final decision will be made at the meeting and I'll post a second response here with the result.

Regards,
Auburn

Players without max armor now have to choose on respawn to get a weapon they enjoy or armor.

Juggs abusing it can be warned for glitching or make a rule about juggs being out of combat for a certain period of time, or just don't let them use it at all with the excuse they use special armor.

Every armory is in a area that is heavily not combative.
Medical is in a spawn room, security sector is in a CL3 room near the entire site's spawn, lower security sector doesn't even spawn in till you exit the room after using the 2, and the HCZ one outside of E11's spawn is basically never used so no one cares about that one.

I do appreciate your respect for the playerbase in sharing the thought process in the decision tho, and respect you for it.

Seconded - I think these factors were overlooked when the decision to remove the armour packs was made. It feels like a knee-jerk reaction to the abuse by Juggernauts. The packs should stay.
