What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Sort the rest of the playerbase into the rest of the blood types
A+ A- B+ B- AB+ AB- O+ O-
I also suggest taking it a step further and applying effects based on blood type in terms of "transfusions" (During a transfusion, the recipient will attack any foreign donor antigens they do not possess, which is why O- is universal donor and AB+ is universal acceptor)
Make blood that is transfused that works with a person's blood type have a healing effect of some kind, and blood that is incompatible have a detrimental effect.
Possibly create some kind of transfusion setup that must be performed in medbay using a scripted entity
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
While there have been suggestions related to blood bags, nothing specific to blood types that I could locate.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1. More potential for roleplay - Medbay would need to store and utilize specific blood types for Medical RP, whereas currently they just throw "Human Blood" at people and call it a day. This would enhance the process by requiring blood typing to ensure someone gets the right kind of blood, and apply rejection effects if the wrong type is given.
2. More potential for future chemicals - More blood types means more base chemicals for content to work with for future chemical updates.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
1. Chemical bloat - Adding more chemicals means more room taken up trying to store them
2. Inconvenience - Currently blood transfusions don't do much outside of an RP scenario, but with this change it would remove the convenience of applying any human blood or always O- in an RP scenario.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
The number one question people ask is "What is my blood type" when they find out some people have O-, and are always disappointed when it is just "Human Blood."
I think this would add a great enhancement to Medical RP overall, and would be beneficial to promoting Medical RP and encouraging others to engage in it.
