What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
-MC&D Hideout

-New and Updated MC&D rules


Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:

Not sure if something similar was suggested before but I definitely heard a lot of suggestions from a lot of other players during my playtime, I combined them all into a suggestion that MAY work as an update for MC&D while not changing it too much. Most of the suggestions are open to be altered for the sake of balance or whatever.

First off, an MC&D hideout. To not add any more new locations and avoid adding new keycards, I suggest turning one of the current locations in Pinewood into an MC&D hideout, like Lakehouse, Pinewood Pub, Pinewood Centre House. Giving MC&D keys the ability to open its doors just like rangers can use theirs to open and close PD. While not required, adding a small laboratory inside one of the rooms for making chemicals and sampling SCPs, cabinet for documents with access only for the new role so MC&Ds can store stolen/bought documents for future and maybe a dispenser to give MC&Ds access to equipment without having to visit other GoIs if they happen to get their hands on a keycard.

Second, a new whitelisted role for MC&D.
100HP 150AP. Average speed. Loadout: Keys, Gravity Gun, Gestures, Personal Tablet, Clipboard, Thaumatologist Reality Bending, Hailstorm, Anomaly Containment Beam, SCP restrains, Handcuffs, Elastic Restrains, Camera.
MC&D Regional Manager is a senior role for MC&D, requiring an application to get. Tasks of RM are overseeing operations of MC&Ds in Pinewood. Keeping their veil of secrecy, negotiating with GoIs and keeping relations with them neutral, supervising and helping MC&D salesmen/agents, keeping rules from being broken by MC&D players.
RM plays a non combatant role only fighting in self-defense or if life is being threatened. Able to job ban potential rulebreakers, Able to buy all types of weaponry both MC&D and HGD.


Third, change to the original MC&D salesman role. To avoid adding any more new roles, I suggest giving the original role of MC&D salesman two different loadouts to separate their playstyles.

1. Loadout MC&D Salesman (Original)
Salesmen will now focus only on their salesman role. Selling SCPs, Chemicals,Weapons and Information etc. Not allowed to trespass anymore or actively seek and fight SCPs.
Containment Beam and Restrains removed.


2. Loadout MC&D Agent (New)
Agents now take the more aggressive part of MC&Ds job. Not able to sell weapons.
100HP 150AP. Average speed. Loadout: Keys, Gravity Gun, Gestures, Personnel Tablet, Clipboard, Hailstorm, Anomaly Containment Beam, SCP restrains, Elastic Restrains, Camera, Disguise tool, Hacking Device, Weapons Checker, Interrogation tool. Not able to buy any weapons or chemical equipment.
Tasks of Agents are obtaining information, breaking into bases to steal keycards/samples/information, Capturing/Stealing Anomalies, Protecting other MC&Ds. STILL ONLY ALLOWED TO FIGHT IN SELF DEFENSE/BEING CAUGHT! NOT ALLOWED TO BREACH SCPS!


Fourth, pretty simple (I think) adding /mcd comms for MC&D roles to see.

Fifth, and most important, updated more accessible rules for MC&D players, since let's be honest, there is a real lack of those anywhere. I am not the one to make rules, so I leave that to people.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):

New RP possibilities for all factions, More reasons to play MC&D = More reasons to "donate" to VIP,Decreased number of mining MC&Ds.A much-needed update for a !VIP! Role,
More recognition of one of the most important GoIs in SCP lore without changing it into a full-blown faction.


Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Lack of free MC&D roles, abuse of new roles, lack of need for a HGD if RM is present, Problems with update creation?

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
While there are negatives and this subject has probably been rejected in the past, I think that with new content being added to almost everything, I think MC&D should not be left out. It was always a role with very high gameplay and RP potential and the positives of this update could really outweigh the negatives. Not to mention the new Shadow Dimension that was added.
If enough time goes into development and a few changes are made to this suggestion, I am sure we can finally get MC&D update without much headache.

Just a quick heads up, that purple color you use is almost impossible to read (contrast with the background is nonexistent), at least for me:

Huge support on this, I believe MC&D may be overlooked by some but it's one of the best roles on the server, and I must agree with all you've listed, I may be biased as MC&D is one of my main roles, however, the role does need some minor changes which is exactly what you're suggesting. It's not like you're suggesting the creation of an entire new group structure (like CI for instance with the keycards and all) you're just suggesting some minor changes that can easily be implemented while keeping the balance of the role - call it a QoL update.
Also as a sidenote, as of right now, although some may not have the knowledge of it, MC&D already has access to the hacking tools, it's just a matter of adding more convenience, lore-wise it makes sense for MC&D to already have it in their disposal, they're literally MC&D after all.
Dev-wise these changes are easy to add.
Rule-wise these changes seem somewhat balanced and suiting to the MC&D playstyle and lore.
Although it's not up to me to decide it, huge +Support from me!

While I'd like to see the line between the normal and anomalous world expanded upon, a pseudo-faction that:
  1. Doesn't have much actual structure apart from the whitelist, which would be difficult to get people to take seriously
  2. Is based around raiding the Foundation for everything they could steal, like you stated, which will inevitably be used by players as another avenue to cause chaos and disrupt general RP on the basis that they "hacked out an SCP to beam them" or "killed E11 so I wouldn't get caught and ID'd in HCZ"
  3. Doesn't add much to RP that can't be facilitated now. as much as I say this, I'd rather entrust staff/GMs to this
is not what I had in mind.

I get where you're coming from, but I must disagree to some extent, MC&D is not a combative role as we all know.

This is partially true in-regards of the structure, however, by the job itself being VIP we can only hope people can take it semi-seriously, the fact the manager is whitelistable and with the possibility in the future of job-banning any minges, people would have to take it more seriously.

  1. MC&D under no circumstances "hack out an SCP" as you've mentioned, that's just breaching which is done by anyone but MC&D, if anything MC&D helps capture breached SCPs on the surface.
  2. MC&D's purpose is usually pretty passive and they rarely kill anyone to be honest their roleplay (and Foundation trespass) is much less disruptive than the constant breaches and CI raids.

Those are pretty much, needed quality of life improvements that improve the overall job experience much more, a good MC&D does not get caught by the Foundation at all most of the times, ask Lolus for instance ;)!

This is just my view on what you've mentioned, and by no means the objective truth though!

+ Splitting the MC&D job into 2 loadouts for Combative/NC purposes (- the disguise/hacking tool, just speak to CI in RP).
+ Using one of the unoccupied buildings in Pinewood (Lakehouse?) as a possible base or MC&D area.
+ /mcd comms as we can't really use /c without infoleaking to civs.


+/- Rule clarifications, do not really think they are needed but they wouldn't hurt

- Dev/Testing time, there are more critical bugs/glitches/reworks in the (infinite) backlog.
- Might require NL oversight during dev due to it being heavily revolved around VIP/Paid Jobs.


Whilst I would love this to be fully accepted many like it have been denied in the past, it is not easy to create specific content restricted to XK VIP out of fear of balancing or becoming pay to win. Instead of a full rework I suggest MC&D goes back to it's roots, potentially being able to spawn and sell Inanimate SCPs such as instances of both paintings currently in LCZ (Schizo and Funny pictures), specific instances of SCP 330 (Candy Bowl), as well as a shard of 409, One page of 1025 (Book of common diseases (would give 1 specific disease per use) and maybe a 714 instance if it would fit into the lore (Jade Ring).

(Edited) Also please add prefixes for MC&D salesmen so they stand out?

Personally I'd say just make Lake house the base with a hatch in the floor or something. We've been seeing people be active with making map changes, making a rocky hole with some stuff wouldn't be too bad.

I think a price rework to some of the weapons would be nice and some other content. But I think this is a good start.

Civilian RP NEEDS more to do, MC&D included, so it isn't just info breaches, getting info breach stuff, and heckling other groups.

I feel you! And I had the same reaction but to be fair obtaining a Foundation disguise would most likely be equally challenging so I don't see why not ahah!
TL;DR one of the main points of the suggestions is for MC&D to be more independent, sneaking into SCP-914 often requires less passive-roleplay, hence a disguise kit may be suited and for balance: Obtaining a Foundation's disguise is almost as difficult. All in all it would really just give MC&D more to work with :)!
