In-game name: 'Big Boss'
Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:202131937
Age: 18
For how long have you played on our servers?: 3 Years
What country are you from?: Ireland
Time Zone: GMT
Do you have a mic?: Yes

Is this your first application for Developer? If not, link previous ones: Yes

Have you received any bans?: A 6 month cheating ban 3 years ago, and a 2 month cheating ban 1 year ago given by a now blacklisted NL.

How confident are you with Blender/Maya/3DSMax (or any other software that applies) (Rate yourself 1-10 using one rating guide): 8

Do you have previous experience as an Artist for GMod?: Yes

Why do you want to be a Artist? What can you help us with?: I want to be a modeller for CN as I have already made models for Military RP twice in the past and awaiting another of mine to be added, I have extensive experience with playermodels and always deliver quality when I make them. Once I get an idea and I believe it has potential I grind it out and make sure they are to the best of my ability.

Which server(s) on Civil Networks do you play on and which ones would you most prefer to model for? Have you made & edited any models before? If so attach some images showcasing your model or edit: I play primarily on MRP but I do have many hours on SCP aswell, I would prefer to work on MRP for the time being as I believe that a lot of the models that are in use by the server are outdated and could look much better while being well optimised.

[EDIT] Development screenshots + another model here, I will continue to post more here.

List any ideas of new models or edits for CN that you would like to work on: There's a lot on MRP that have potential but are wasted by using old models, for example, NATO CO Models (To which I have already made new ones), AG, ATR, both sides HC models, USSR COs, 17th and KGB come to mind. Some more needed than others. To give a specific change for the NATO CO models, which I have already completed, no regiments CO's look the same, SAS has a cream beret, ISAF is green, RMP is red, 17th is black and JAF is blue, along with different suits for each and regiment logos on the berets. Making it able to tell what regiment a CO is in just by a quick glance.

How confident are you with QC? (Rate yourself 1-10 using rating guide): 9, when I created the RMP models my PC was so bad at the time I didn't have the correct DirectX version to run blender, so I created those models entirely via editing the QC manually and retexturing, checking my progress with HLMV.

Do you have any experience with Crowbar?: Yes, I have been using crowbar for over a year.

How many hours can you commit to developing per week?: 6-7

Why do you want to be a Developer? What can you help us with?: Again I wish to be a developer as I believe the models on a server play a great part in the overall experience for the player, and I believe I can help as I have great visions for each regiment on the server and can make the experience better. RMP before had very dwindling numbers before my models got added due to them all looking identical and frankly quite boring, since my models were added that give each job individuality I myself have notice an uptick of people looking to join that regiment.

Hi @Sly

thanks for taking the time to apply, do you have any images showing off more of your work and also your works in the "creation stage" such as use of blender and other software.

Furthermore, do you specialise in what's known as "kit-bashing" which is taking things from models and adding it to another model or are you experienced in creating your own models?

Also do you have experience in rigging?

Kind Regards
Yeke

I had some plans to make some others in the next couple days so I'll post more and my process when I've finished those, I would say I specialize in "kit-bashing" in the way you described, as I do generally combine bodygroups but then after edit to suit how I envision as creating playermodels entirely from scratch is quite a process. I also have plenty of experience with texturing to very often transform away from the original model. I do have experience in rigging but I would not classify myself as proficient as I generally used skeletons from other models to be on the safer side with the in-game animations.
