So, I left. I left in late December, occasionally posted a suggestion but never popped on the server. I was digging through post and remembered I never made a "see you in 2 weeks" post. So here goes!
In September 2022 I joined civil for the first time, never intending to stay long, just fuck around and dip, I just left shAtlas after a bunch of shitty drama, and was just looking to troll a bit and leave. Ironically, after hopping off the burning ship that was that other server Civil was a breath of fresh air.
Content updates were common
RP was solid
Combat was great
Map was great
Staff was okay
MTF were wonderful.
So somehow I joined GSD, became a captain, joined E11, got to CSG, then I got into a accident and dipped out for 6 months to recover. In that time I got insane promotions in my real life job, was working from home.
Finally rejoined after 6 months, joined NU7 and had a blast, CI was fun to fight, marksman was fun, M249 was cool, GOC larped really good, my COM was amazing, and I actually was involved in a event, I don't know who hosted it but it was this dark forest deployment, we swepted it and were attacked by a robot, contained it and pulled backed. It was fun, insanely fun.
Then I got pulled to A1, wasn't told we couldn't enter D-Block, O5-1 at the time told me to kill a D-Class, I got combat cuffed, got removed for it. Killed momentum and I left again.
3 months later I came back and shit changed. CI wasn't as fun to fight because of TB, HCZ was given 2 entrances so defending that was basically impossible and would just be a wild goose chase, ect, but I chugged through it, figured stuff would get better. I joined DEA, fucked up CI with disguise tool enough I got pulled to O-1 (about the same time they nerf'd DEA lmao).
O-1 was a roller-coaster, I was around for a ECC getting voldemort'd, a CSG who was ex Ltcom getting Voldemort'd, and GOC forgetting how to larp, multiple ethics members, etc.
Eventually, I got O-1 COM, of course drama happened, people started targeting me over rumors or just being salty they didn't make the cut, so I dipped out of that too, passing it to a FILTHY Australian! (God forgive me)[that's obviously a joke]
Joined A1 and about that time life started getting hectic, my grandfather, who was a huge influence in my life went downhill, but whenever I wasn't in the hospital with him or at work, I was on A1. Saw multiple command teams get wiped by staff and drama, but honestly met some of the best people in the server there, really fun loving folks, seemed to understand there's alot of bad actors out there trying to make their way up by slandering others, really had a blast, but, still, server reqs started to feel less like a check of activity, and more of a job. 3 hours a day or you were seen as inactive did grind down my drive. Eventually, in mid late December, my grandfather passed away. My first thought after the sadness and grief was "better tell the commsnd team!" And, that kinda fucked with me when I thought about it.
A huge influence, and person who helped me in life was dead, and I was worried about a fuckin video game. I was, frankly, disgusted with myself. Reasonably so. This was a man who every Tuesday or Wednesday, I would go pick up from his house, and have a nice lunch, and discussions with, since I could drive, now dead, and I was thinking about a fucking videogame.
I messaged in A1 chat that I was leaving, and explained part of the reason, not the whole reason, and did so.
So, I guess reasons why I left, the server demands too much, the role-playing has basically ceased to exist for MTF because of how the map has made it where if you're not constantly looking for CI they'll get in and breach annoying as shit scps, containment of SCP isn't RP it's running from spawn to 10 buck 2, shooting them a few times, dying, and repeating 15 times, SCP gameplay is sitting AFK for 2 hours or flagging on for your CI friends to hack you out, rules are enforced unequally and if you got a problem you get to come here and write a 16 page essay on it and hope your post isn't misread, GMs don't have enough to work with to make more than the 30th animal in the facility event, there is 0 economy beyond the top 4 combat chems, the conflict RP for factions is high school drama, and if you dare have fun you'll get the Uncle Ruckas treatment from his dad when he's caught having fun by some peeved off staff member.

NU7 my parents taught me if I didn't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. There's alot to say about yall. The most effective medics on site was always NU7, watching a Jugg stomp out CI was great, watching the occasional NU7 go insano mode was even better.
