Hey everyone, got banned, realized I am happier off the server, probably won't come back.
Story yap:
I joined way back in August 2023, I was not creative in creating a name for a character so the end of this will make sense, I also joined only knowing of 096, 692 and 173, didn't know anything else, even what D-Class were. It was my first RP server ever so I didn't know what I was doing and was a minge at first, I got lots of warnings and a few bans. I joined E-11 at some point and minged and got blacklisted before taking a break early 2024 for a bit. I came back and started focusing on IA where people such as Broda and the Ambassador team gave me lots of help such as teaching me how to RP properly and how to minge less. I applied for Ambassador and after discussion in the thread they gave me the role marking it as my first CL4. I tried working hard as Ambassador but always doubted myself and sometimes fell back into a bit of mingery but Broda helped me focus more and I got to keep the role going into the ISD rework.
At some point during my Ambassador tenure I applied for ECA and OSA. To begin with OSA, it was a very fun role and I enjoyed hanging around O5 and A1 but it also gave me my first insight into how Site Command properly function and work. I tried working as close as I could with o5 to learn as much as possible but I always managed to have a laugh with A1, especially Pyrite who loved RDMing me at any chance he got. We all got along pretty well and had a good laugh almost all the time. I learned a lot overall from the role and helped with trainings for A1, whether I was a shooting dummy or a VIP they rinsed me dry, they also robbed and tortured me occasionally. Great times.
Now ECA, I left OSA to focus on ECA as I knew from my time as ECA that I wanted to be an ECM. It was the role I absolutely enjoyed the most on the server. I watched the entirety of O1 cycle maybe 2 times and Ethics more times than I can count so more than 10 times. I got so much experience in working with and for Site Command while also having loads of fun. I partook in lots of orders and made a few, made lots of RP around site and got to have so much fun with others while doing so. I applied for ECM nearly 5 times I think but never got it unfortunately. However I got to be a personal assistant to Broda when he was Chairman for a while and Napoleon when they were ECM, so thank you guys for that. I met loads of great people in the Committee, O1 and other Assistants, they allowed me to have a really good time while always making jokes and having fun. I did try really hard on ECA to improve as much as possible while still having fun but it came to an end with the ban and a tenure of 1 year and 7 months.
Between becoming an ECA and ISD I was an E-11 CPT. I really liked E-11, the people were very nice and I finally managed to come back from 4 blacklists and climb up to CPT at a very fast pace. It was my first SR CL4 however it was only considered so OOC due to it being a main leading position. Once I got to CSG, I cooked so hard during that week to get LT but I didn't at the next meeting and the only reason was because it is was a tradition at the time to make people stay as CSG for 2 weeks before promotion to LT which I got the next meeting. I was so happy to help revive the department before it fell off the edge at one point, I made operations and orders, did lots of RP, coordinated E-11 really well during breaches which allowed us to contain them within minutes but after my resignation to join ISD these tactics were forgotten overtime and they became shit at containing things again. As I just said I left CPT to go to ISD Commissioner as I couldn't hold 2 SR CL4s.
ISD was also great. I transitioned from Ambassador to ISD Inspector with the rework and I am so glad I was able to contribute to the rework with office ideas, reworking documents, new policies and help prepare other players such as Agents and help them adjust to new policies as much as possible. My time as Inspector was short lived due to me getting promoted to ISD Commissioner. I helped create operations and orders alongside some murder mystery RP with the assistance of GMs. This was also my first proper SR CL4 and again, I have Broda as he selected myself to be promoted to the position. However that same December I was demoted to Inspector due to increasing inactivity. I then shortly resigned to focus on ECA entirely. I returned to Commissioner 1 or 2 times after that however to help the department while it was struggling which again, I was selected by Broda.
I think that my time in SA was my absolute peak on the server. I was TMOD about to get MOD, Site Advisor with Brayan, getting better and involved with RP drastically and helped manage a few departments. The day I joined was very chaotic as I got 25 pings in the first 4 hours, gave a medal out at an NU7 meeting in the 2nd hour and got involved with some serious big RP and the next day I got involved into a storyline. I was trying as hard as I could and while chaotic I had so much fun on the role, in OOC or IC it was a blast and I really enjoyed helping other departments and people and finally creating some good big RP for others. I think I could've gotten very far in the community if it wasn't for the soundboard incident... (Those who know...). I think if I was there only a bit longer then I could have had a strong chance at getting ECM. But if you are interested in SA then do go for it, a lot of doors and opportunities will open for you in the role and you need to make the best of it.
Staff was also a really good time. I think I performed really well and I enjoyed watching people rage as I said I would be issuing a ban while I laughed with my mentor. My first time as staff in December 2024, Cece was my mentor and she really helped me through it, she taught me very well and always ensured I performed well in sits although she didn't have to intervene often and said I did really well. I remember one really funny sit where this fella was MRDMing in D-Block so I pulled him and when he realized he couldn't kill me he resulted to calling me the nword 5 times before getting gagged and banned for 3 weeks, good times. Second time around I flew through the mentoring, handled sits really well and passed my test easily in my opinion. I put in loads of hours, which could be boring, it was also fun and I got staff of the week and I was certain I would be getting MOD at the next meeting but then the soundboard incident happened and I got myself a perma blacklist from staff. I really wanted to progress further and help others but oh well.
Finally my regrets. I really did try as hard as I could to reach ECM, but no matter what I always messed up and wasn't good enough. ECM was my final goal in the server and I really wanted to achieve it but at the end of my time I couldn't which is one of many regrets that I have on my back. I also regret not looking into the server or it's rules so that I could actually progress. I also regret messing around so much, did I have fun? Yes, was it worth the consequences? No. If I had actually locked in I could have gotten way further on the server and done more but instead I chose the other path and this is where it lead me. Another is just saying unneeded thins as it lead to where I am now. Lastly, my main and biggest regret is between the soundboard incident. I was doing so well and set up for greatness until the soundboard incident where I lost almost everything and it truly marked my downfall on the server and while I did try to recover, I just couldn't. Either it would be brought up on apps and denied because of it although it could be MONTHS after it had happened it was used against me at every chance possible or whenever I tried to progress.
Overall the server was really great especially around the E-11 CPT times, with all the fun I was having and the other players on the server. However slowly overtime the server became more and more biased and now is ran off this bias. This stems from friend groups that have connections to people in SSL or just high ranks. If you are in these friend groups you are the issue on the server, however on the other side, if you aren't apart of these friend groups then it is harder for you to progress through the server and positions aren't handed to you unlike other people, especially the current high ranks. So it is best for you to make friends with whoever you can if you want to progress on the server and if you don't believe me then either you are rejecting it, are apart of these friend groups or just haven't seen it yet. Another downside is just how toxic some people can be, they either want to drag you down as much as possible to where you want to resign, make you lose motivation or just be absolute haters. But in my time I tried making the best of it despite all these and a few weirdos that really put me off over the course of my time on the server. I thank everyone who was apart of that journey for allowing me to have as much fun as I did, giving me new opportunities, and working alongside me IC. You all are the reason the server was so great for me.
