What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion is to add a single accessible CCTV screen to the Site Manager's office by removing the screen from EOC room as its not used that much and instead placing it in the Site Manager's Office allowing similar access to Floor 3's (Sitewide) CCTV camera system. This would allow us to assist during Codes 1-5 in some capacity without being in a combative scenario

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Aurelius "Fusilli" already made a similar suggestion, the difference in mines is to move the position of the EOC screen to SA offices and also giving the same access as Floor 3's CCTV

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- To counteract the negative, SA Offices are protected by at least 2 cl4 doors, one of the being coded giving foundation personnel little to no access to our offices unless an SCP broke them though that risk is very small
- Allows SA to assist foundation personnel during emergency codes by identifying disguised individuals like DC's, ISD disguised & 914 users. Additionally, we can assist E-11 in locking SCP in certain areas such as remotely closing Blastdoors, locking the SCP's in.
- Though this could be seen as an excuse for SA to remain in their office, again the CCTV would only be used during emergency codes as well assisting IA in arrests, creating RP for foundation personnel.
- the LCZ cctv room might be close to us however i feel that during an emergency code, it would be alot safer to have one in our office rather than risk leaving CS to see them, especially during a Code 1 or Code 5

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- Should SA doors be broken by hack or SCP's, a personnel could view the sitewide CCTV

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I believe this should be accepted as it does not really provide any backlash or issues adding this, as the risk provided is very small

hhhhhhhh i mean yes, this doesn't have the same performance concerns, but the other major discourse in the suggestion you mentioned is RP detraction concerns - this doesn't dispute the fact that there is an LCZ CCTV room which as i stated in that suggestion, an alteration to which could be pursued to serve the needs of SA and provide use & activity to a currently, largely underutilised area of the map.

this also carries the same activity around the site issue that was brought up in that suggestion, too; sure you can argue that this wouldn't be detracting from EOC, because in the case of an emergency, the chances of SA getting to EOC without issue are quite slim and for that reason it doesn't make sense to be doing so.

not only would having this kind of mechanic be accessible from where i believe SA spawn? would be a major gameplay imbalance but also as you say, this could encourage SA to stay in their offices; and they don't exactly have a great reputation among the playerbase to begin with (at least on UK) as a result of their level of opaqueness and general unapproachability, and i feel this may contribute to that. yes, i am aware of my own personal bias on this matter, thank you

i get the need for it, but having it so readily available in a way that doesn't encourage site activity from SA does not sound good for the server.

Coming from an Ex-Cl4. I can say that it's nearly impossible to get to the EoC unless you head out right at the start of a code due to the choke point of PW loop being there. (During a code being one of the most useful CCTV times)

On your point about activity, in my opinion, the activity of Site Administration is not in dire need for improvement, nor does this change discourage activity. As i stated in the post when SA are using the CCTV, No matter the place they are using it from, they are still on site, active and responding to comms to help others. For instance, you mentioned that this would encourage SA to stay in their office. this is simply untrue, As EOC's CCTV or hell even Crosstrainings's CCTV (not sure why that place even has one), is not used by anyone (EOC's for bad Code 5's/CB's & CT's unknown reasons) & due to the risks of leaving CS to try to get on CCTV at LCZ, SA would like to assist further during Code1-5's. The only other reason SA would be using CCTV not during emergency codes would be to assist IA, view D-Block blindspots or observe a test which would be too risky for SA to be in person.

Overall, this suggestion doesnt decrease SA activity as it does not remove/decrease our presence on and around site, but allows SA to assist were we can during loud or quiet times on the server.

no, but that's no reason to start heading in the other direction for convenience's sake

this is fair - they're contributing over comms and such, alright. it's still imbalanced though, as it gives them this power directly in their spawn area, but i also thought more about this and realised that the FL3 camera room is also within the spawn area of assistants, A-1 and O5. not sure how to handle that dichotomy, but eh
As EOC's CCTV or hell even Crosstrainings's CCTV (not sure why that place even has one), is not used by anyone (EOC's for bad Code 5's/CB's & CT's unknown reasons) & due to the risks of leaving CS to try to get on CCTV at LCZ, SA would like to assist further during Code1-5's.
...sure, i agree that EOC's CCTV is bad

i didn't even know there was one in crosstraining. why is there one in crosstraining?

either way, i would agree with changes to either of those, but not directly moving it into SA's spawn area.

however, the risks of leaving CS to get to LCZ CCTV as you mention, is part of the balance factor in having that capability available to you to use during those situations - this risk is significantly less than going to EOC and the last 1/3 of the journey is virtually a safe area as it is well-protected by virtue of being the GenSec & Nu7 spawn area. again, if we just put CCTV in your spawn area, that's a significant balance skew in favour of Foundation, away from SCPs and raiding factions; especially considering that FL3 already has powerful CCTV in their spawn area.
The only other reason SA would be using CCTV not during emergency codes would be to assist IA, view D-Block blindspots or observe a test which would be too risky for SA to be in person.

i agree with this.

I don't think a screen can be added as there is something relating to mapping that enables it to not shit the server out, hence why IA lost their screen due to interference with the lights.

I'm unsure if this has been changed at all but @Judge would be your best bet to ask. Adding a screen to Site Admin Offices etc won't work very well if it is still the case.

Hello there,

This is still the case unfortunately, a bug that is more of a SE limitation that causes env_sprites to flicker.
Until this is resolved, it cannot be added as it will be too much of a nuisance.

Furthermore, I am trying to encourage activity in the site, if we continue to give every department their own lecture rooms, camera rooms, etc... this defeats the purpose and causes the site to appear "dead". So from now on, I will be trying to scatter these locations around the place.

Regards,
Developer Judge

further thought on this - how about we move one of these unused camera screens to CPC?

this would add more reason to man it and more reason to expect it to be manned - which could encourage traffic through CPC, especially from LCZ -> PW

only issue i can think of other than potentially clashing with what judge brought up about activity, is the other extant thing about it not being possible because of the mapping bug - i wasn't particularly sure where was being referred to as places such as IA & PW were mentioned, which, if IA refers to IA offices, then this is proximal to CPC - but if it referred to CPC directly, then that's unfortunate

Ideally it would be in CPC, but there is still the sprite bug so it just won't work..
