Why are you applying for Site Director?
-
I guess the reason as to “Why” I am applying for the Site Director is that I believe I am the most fit out of all the people who wish to apply. And I believe my roleplay and leadership are fitting for a Site Director who is there for the whole site to assist people with issues they may have, and ensures Site Administration is doing the job properly. I have, so far, as an advisor, made sure work is being done, issues are handled, and spoken!
I will admit, my blacklist is something that does indeed look bad, and I do regret my mistakes. However, during my time back in the community, I have shown improvement and believe I am fit, despite a troubled past.
Site Administration has shown that they need someone who is able to maintain activity, but also provide leadership, and someone to guide them.
I’ll give a few points as to why I am applying as well.
Maturity. I believe my maturity has improved compared to three years ago, when I first attempted for the position. I believe my maturity and how I conduct situations both within an In Game Roleplay matter, but also outside of the game, and conducting situations that require someone to handle any issues someone may have have improved, and I believe it is what Site Admin needs the absolute most of.
I’m applying to give Site Admin the face that it needs. The public viewing and overall face that people can go to when they need assistance. So far, I’ve been able to help influence the site and make sure the experience for new players and all members of site-staff are overall enjoyable, and that people can look up to and have someone they can trust to lead their site.
I’m applying to help continue the leadership within Site Administration and better not only Site Admin, but all department leads, and all members of the site. There will be more reasons as to why I am applying within the suitable section, as I believe these two questions work side-by-side together.
I work with people ICly and OOCly to make sure issues for roleplay health, and general enjoyment are overall handled well.
After being encouraged by multiple people to apply for Site Director, even if it is too early, I decided to put the application in. Even if not accepted, it will allow me to gather feedback, and better myself!
What makes you suitable for Site Director over Site Advisor?:
Experience: While I am not going to go back into my experience, both as a former Site Manager in the past and a current Site Advisor as of current times. I believe my experience shows that I have a very good understanding of how departments work on the site. Currently, as an Advisor, I have made sure each of the departments I have had the pleasure of liaising with is making sure they are conducting themselves to a high standard. As well as making sure they have proper roleplay, they can enjoy. My experience I have, shows that I do genuinely care for each of the departments, and can conduct myself to a high standard of a RP Lead position.
Roleplay: Roleplay is something I enjoy doing the most. Not just roleplay that is locked behind a clearance level, that new players cannot have the pleasure of experiencing, but roleplay that all personnel of all ranks can come up to, and have fun and play. I’ve done roleplay encounters with Security to make sure that D-Block ethical standards and cell standards are being held, Site Admin Q&As where I’ll sit down, have people come up on stage and speak to Site Administration, and general lectures where I’ll speak about information and teach people. As a Site Director as well, Groups of Interest must also be taken into consideration. As a member of Site Admin, I’ve been able to work together with GOC after the RP reset to make sure RP for them isn’t boring and isn’t sitting in a FOB all day doing nothing. While I will admit, Chaos Insurgency roleplay is a bit difficult due to the gameplay nature/roleplay nature the Insurgency is, I have also made sure to have roleplay given to them as well. Before the info reset, I invited the Insurgency after they wished to research and test the reality rifts. While they betrayed us, it was good roleplay for all parties involved, before an incident happened, which turned into an MRDM fest. I believe I have also worked well with the UNGOC LTCOL and SSL to make sure that their roleplay loop does not die, and that UNGOC has stuff to do! With that, I believe my roleplay itself is fitting for a Director position.
Activity: I’m not gonna go on this too much, but my activity overall is more than what it should be. I attempt to continue the public face of Site Admin, in which my activity proves that.
Conduct: If a change happens that people have issues with, I speak to the people, explain the changes, and work with them to make sure issues they may have are fixed, or at least compromised, so that it is best for all players on the server. However, I am aware that changes may not be liked by some members of the player-base, that is how it will always be within the server, and I have so far conducted myself to make sure that if someone has an issue, I chat with them. I attempt to prevent drama and make sure that any issues/questions they have are answered at the very least.
Betterment of myself: I take feedback and utilize the feedback I am given. During my first week or so, I made a mistake as an advisor. I utilized the feedback I was given by Julien and the rest of the council, and fixed it. I continue to strive to ask for feedback. Nobody is perfect, so continuing to receive feedback and working on that feedback is something I believe makes me suitable for Director over an advisor.
Leadership: I’ve mentioned leadership a bit in the maturity section and conduct. But I believe my leadership is good for a Director to have. I make sure departments conduct and skills are being upheld, and if not, I speak to them, bring them feedback, and watch how they conduct themselves on the feedback. I also work with department leads to make sure departmental issues are fixed in order to have their department the best it possibly can be. For my leadership of the general playerbase, I bring escorts from all members of the site, giving them a feeling that they can enjoy and feel like they have someone to look up to. I make sure that people of all clearance levels have someone they can look up to, which includes helping organize raids with no Nu7 CO/DEA leadership on, and GoI interactions, making sure DEA is handling them well, and stepping in when issues occur.
OOC Behavior: My behavior within an OOC aspect, I believe, is also good! I make sure I’m speaking with people, and if any issues occur with RP health, I always listen to them and handle them.
Documentation Work: The biggest thing a pencil pusher, like a director position will do a lot. My documentation work isn’t horrible. I will admit, I am a bit rusty when it comes to in-game documentation; however, out of game documentation, such as Site Policies (Putting it in the Discord, I do make sure site policies are in game as well), making sure the SA Roster is up to date, and everything else is up to date, I conduct wonderfully.
My communication with the rest of Site Administration I try my hardest to uphold. I hosted the last Site Administration meeting, talking about how Site Administration is going, how each of their departments they are working on is going, and how they are doing as a Site Admin, as well as any feedback they wish to give to -4 that was within the Teamspeak.
While I will admit, my time so far has been quick, and I believe some people believe I have been “speedrun into positions,” and I do believe I have gone quickly. However, my activity, how I conduct myself, and what type of roleplay I bring are the reasons I am where I am. I try my hardest, and believe I am deserving of it and am suitable for it.
I will also admit that my application is not the prettiest. I haven't done a solid application in quite some time. However I did try my hardest for this.
