Denied Cmission Replacement Suggestion

What does this suggestion change/add/remove:​

This suggestion is adding the conflict territory (or something similar) that replaces the Cmission objective that we have (Briefcase pick up, Infil's, etc.)

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:​

Checked the public github, I couldn't find anything similar.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):​

I will list the possible positives to this below;

- Gives Nu-7/DEA something to do other than sitting in site/surface.
- Gives CI something other to do other than raiding
- Would create a lot more things to do on surface and SA/SC would have more of a position on surface with commanding areas
- Would create more realistic diplomacy between the three factions
- Allow more use of a war funds
- Would give GOC and CI the surface update they have been wanting for many months

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:​

I will list the possible negatives of this below;

- This could make MRP be less special with their custom conflict territory/wars
- This might require an extension of surface or a new surface entirely
- This may require new code
- This could require mappers to change the map

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:​

Based on both the positives and negatives I believe this should be accepted because over the past few months CI and GOC have both wanted a surface update as we haven't really had a surface major update since release. This would at least in my eyes and a few other peoples eyes this would give the surface the very much needed update as surface RP is very bland as no-one is ever on surface, especially with GOC there is never RP and GOC is an RP regiment. Overall, this wouldn't be a very hard update to implement unless the surface is needed to be bigger, the code already exists on MRP, so this wouldn't take long to implement and would create the RP GOC and CI need.

If you're talking capture the point type scenarios, I'm fairly sure it's been denied in the past, even though the surface war Requis ran was super popular.

While I get the idea and certainly think there should be something done about the negative impact that CMissions have on RP, I do... I do like this specific idea. However, this is at least kind of incompatible with the current UK RP environment? Where IIRC, there is an active IC surface DMZ policy agreed upon by all three factions? This implementation would either have to be able to take that kind of thing and the associated roleplay into account, or step all over its toes entirely. While it wasn't an explicit point made, I do also agree with the idea that we need a new Surface.

But even ignoring all the related issues there and with the necessary time & effort needed for implementation, this as you said, may detract from MRP - As well as surface not really being a focal point of the server? And for those reasons, I believe this idea may unfortunately be thrown out entirely.

There's no reason to have such a large issue on the server and not implement fixes because it might detract from a completely separate server.

I agree.

To add, I think that another reason for this being denied may well be that CT are concerned about Surface potentially turning into MRP, which I believe is something that has been stated in the past, by staff, as unwanted.

- This would be lit, CI and NU7 actually fighting real and not the Goofy ahh combat that sometimes was with Head glitching, Combat Jumping and idk. Add something like this where you ACTUALLY have to use skill so gain something, which would be capturing a point.

- Also You can add a function that this ONLY works when there are like idk 10 MTF NU7 and 10 CI
