(keep in mind most lore will be based of the D-Class deal that some people are offered. some d-class ain't death row inmates. they can be from other times homeless.. in jail for long periods of time. people that wont be missed.)

LORE

PRE D-CLASS PROGRAM

Crow had committed grand theft three times prior to this arrest. This was his fourth offense, and he was caught in all four instances. His total number of thefts remained known only to him (though he no longer remembers them).

The latest incident he can recall began when he received a call that was apparently from his lawyer. The voice didn’t sound familiar at all, but he listened anyway. According to the lawyer, he should have already been released. The lawyer had taken his case after Crow’s brother tried to get him out of jail—unaware that Crow had already been transferred into the Class D program.

Officially, his charges upon entering prison were:

  • Felony second-degree commercial burglary
  • Felony grand theft
  • Second-degree robbery
  • Assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury (he knocked a man unconscious out of pure instinct after panicking at the thought of being caught a fourth time)
  • Great bodily injury enhancement
  • Prior felony conviction enhancement

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Having received no visitors, the SCP Foundation determined he would not be missed and offered him a deal.

The lawyer had obtained footage of everything that happened. The video showed Crow displaying immediate remorse, checking for signs of life on the security guard of the business he had broken into. Luckily, the guard was still breathing.

Crow also called an ambulance himself, which ultimately led to him being caught.

During the first trial, the guard testified that the thief had said:

“I am a thief, but I ain’t no murderer.”

The lawyer was competent, and the judge was somewhat forgiving. Since the victim survived without any lasting damage or long-term effects, he even took the stand himself and stated that he bore no ill will toward Crow. It was the business that pushed to pursue harsher punishment.

The charges were later reduced to:

  • Felony second-degree commercial burglary
  • Felony grand theft
  • Misdemeanor battery
  • Prior felony conviction enhancement

However, it was too late. By the time the charges were lowered, Crow was already within the D-Class program.

He no longer remembers any of this. only his lowered charges and take the charges as truth himself. in total his prison stay with the lowered charges should have been 2 years.

The SCP Foundation has administered amnestics.

DURING D-CLASS PROGRAM

Subject D-5997 displayed no anomalous traits prior to intake.

During initial processing, he was selected for Project VIOLET-9 — a trial program testing low-cost ocular augmentation for improved anomalous perception in expendable personnel. The augmentation compound was derived from a liquid sample recovered from SCP-297 following entry into ████████████-REDACTED.

A synthetic derivative was injected directly into the optic nerve to increase sensitivity to non-visible spectrums and memetic distortions. The procedure resulted in permanent violet pigmentation of the irises, caused by low-level neural luminescence beneath the corneal surface.

The glow intensifies under stress.

Officially, the discoloration is classified as “cosmetic degradation.”

Unofficially, several researchers have noted that D-5997 frequently appears to focus on empty space even when no anomaly is present like a cat looking at the corner. no behavioral changes are present.

Reclassification Review

Later in the program, D-5997 was randomly selected for a behavioral and cognitive evaluation to determine suitability for conditional reclassification beyond D-Class status.

Results exceeded baseline expectations.

The review process drew the attention of the Ethics Committee, who raised concerns regarding his continued classification as a “death row prisoner” despite demonstrable cooperation, psychological stability, and above-average analytical capability.

Following formal review, Subject D-5997 was granted provisional reassignment under Ethics Committee's supervision.

He currently holds the position of Tier-5 Ethics Intern.

Pending continued performance and clearance approval, his next official advancement is Ethics Assistant.
