What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Couple of things,
1. Additions to D-Class.
2. New Crafting System.
3. New D-Block.
Starting off with the Additions to D-Class. A mining system. This would also add to the New Crafting System, but I'll elaborate on that later on. A mining system would change how the scrap system works, Instead of having D-Class run around like robots, they would have to mine nodes to get ores which could be turned into scrap, this could also be a way to earn more D-Class XP and give D-Class more interaction with the game instead of just running around, everyone would get their share instead of the usual popup saying there is no scrap in the scrap pile.
Next, the New Crafting System, instead of the "Run up to guy, press button, run back" crafting system, a genuine "DIY" system would make more sense. There could be a table which you could use to craft weapons & keycards using your mined ores & scrap. And instead of the whole non-realistic weaponry D-Class can get (.44 magnum from trash??, UZI from scrap dealer), they'd be able to craft Makeshift Weapons, for example: a Machete, possibly a Bow / Crossbow, Homemade Bombs (instead of the grenades) & Makeshift Looking Guns.
And Lastly, the New D-Block, a D-Block Rework is really needed, like really, whats a void doing right below the cells? I think that only having the site staff areas get reworks (HCZ, PW, EZ) feels really unfair to D-Class, a D-Block rework would make it feel more modern just like the other places, would also make sense to add like a caved in area for the ore nodes. This of course would also boost the amount of people playing D-Class.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I've seen PLENTY of D-Block & D-Class rework suggestions, the reason why mine is so much different, is that it doesn't ruin the balance and is a really needed addition.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1. Accessibility for new players. Currently, new players would join the server, be locked to D-Class for a while, go straight into a line and realize its not that fun to just go be tested on. Reworking D-Block would enable them to actually explore & work harder to actually achieve something, rather than to just run around for scrap. Could even boost the player count (more money!).
2. D-Class Mains & Researchers. A lot of people that used to play D-Class or still do will find the current state that D-Class is in to be tragic. It's really repetitive, with 0 buffs, nothing new, and straight up change logs about them getting nerfed again. This would boost the D-Class amount and actually give researchers more people to test on, as currently I don't see people on D-Class that often.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
I don't really see any negatives in this, I'm sure the content team could make this possible by looking at their past area reworks. It would boost the amount of riots, but that is what GSD is for.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
D-Class & D-Block are in a tragic state, constantly receiving nerfs, losing people playing, less tests. Currently researchers have to rely on new players or have people pity them to test or sample, which is not a reliable source, doing everything that I mentioned is a guaranteed way to boost the D-Class playerbase & the amount of tests & sampling (more larp!!). And don't give me that "We are not looking for more combat in D-Class". I know sure as hell that GSD don't get that much to do in D-Block. This would be doing a favor to them too.
