What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
-As it is, there is currently an 80 minute cooldown from the moment the current type-blue dies to when another player can become the type-blue. My suggestion is to decrease this time from 80 minutes to 40 minutes.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
-The current nature of the server is that it is very rare for Class-D to escape legitimately (people often get the help of their friends playing other roles to give them guns, open restricted access areas, etc.). I have logged over 100 hours on the server, primarily as a D-class, and have only escaped 1 time. Decreasing the cooldown would create just a tad bit more opportunity for D-class to escape that would make the D-class experience more captivating and overall enjoyable.
-Making the class more accessible would motivate more players to grind to total level 75, thus garnering more players for the server that are exploring the different roles as they attempt to increase their overall level.
-It would create more dynamic pvp scenarios for foundation security as they won't simply be fighting the same knife or prokolot wielding D-class for the 100th time in a row.
-While this may be considered speculative, I think that people would be less inclined to cheat by having their friends play different roles to help them escape if there were more opportunities with type-blue. If there is more potential for D-class to be able to escape legitimately, I feel like most people would choose that over breaking the rules so often and risking a ban.
-Researchers will have more D-class to experiment on, and security would likely become more active in their efforts when it comes to locking down D-block during a riot, because that would be a good opportunity for D-class to escape.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
-While I know most suggestions tend to leave out of the negatives because they believe their suggestion is 100% correct, I truly believe there are little to no negatives with making this change. The only issue I could see is maybe too many D-class escaping, but I firmly believe this is not the case as a competent team of security should be able to quell most escape attempts. This just makes the possibility to escape a little greater.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
-This suggestion should be accepted because it would truly heighten the experience of playing as a D-class. Recently, I feel as though there has been an extreme imbalance in foundation security and staff compared to D-class. With this change, I am confident that there will be a rise in D-class players and will ultimately make the experience more enjoyable for everyone. Thanks :)

Gensec need something good in their life, That cooldown makes their players actually want to hop back onto the server
HUGE -SUPPORT

Speaking from gensec's side, having a type blue every 80-odd minutes is already frustrating enough, and the spots stack, so if someone lived for 40 minutes (with enough inversion/field kits) they could instantly get back on tb.

The whole point of the role is that it isn't always available.

I understand why this might seem like a good idea for d-class players, but when you play GENSEC and realise how much of a pain TB is as it can completely stop roleplay such as escorts for tests etc.
❤️❤️❤️

almost every time theres a type blue it results in us asking for mtf help and a sweep, its a real pain in the ass.

we already deal with scouts and brutes with automatic guns, nevermind a d class with a goddamn auger minigun

Sure, d-class can get out of d-block every now and then, but barely anyone ever escapes the faciltiy (legitimately that is). With no access to guns or high level keycards it is virtually impossible. I challenge anyone on the forums to play D-class for a day and see how hard it is to escape legitimately.
D class escaping d block is an issue. Altought they never make it out facility rogue d class make code 5 worse and contribute to more difficulty in general when doing regular site duties. I am an nu7 member and find myself often having to deal with not only CI but influx of rogue d class, sometimes with better gun then me that they obtained via 914. D class escape altought "rare" they still pose a massive threat on site. Being able to completly ruin mtf duties. As it stands rn D block is well balanced.

Escaping successfully in the first place is meant to be a rare occurrence that takes repeated attempts to achieve. Despite this, it can still be done somewhat consistently, as seen with D-Class players who put the time and reap the rewards of causing chaos elsewhere. Making TYPE BLUE doubly accessible means that, when D-Class do escape, the factor of difficulty making the "experience more captivating and overall enjoyable" is reduced, because it would be much easier to do so given how many opportunities there would be for TYPE BLUE.

The point regarding research is counterintuitive, as D-Class who take the effort to grind out to unlock the class are even more likely to disrupt roleplay through incessant rioting and escape attempts. GENSEC won't have the resources to allocate for escorting tests because they will all be expended fighting the ever-present TYPE BLUE.

dynamic pvp scenarios
Which are only be fun for the TYPE BLUE player.

people would be less inclined to cheat by having their friends play different roles to help them escape
When those players are inevitably denied the TYPE BLUE slot, or see that the cooldown hasn't yet expired, they will still be supplied weapons just as before, if not more, to whittle away GENSEC's numbers until they can get on TYPE BLUE.

d-class players when they are denied escape even though they are literal death row inmates held up at one of the most secure facilities in the world with little access to basic necessities, nevermind keycards and guns via the oh how so convenient scrap trader in the bathrooms ?

realistically there would be maybe 1 d class escaping per month. there most certainly wouldnt be a scrap trader or dispenser in d-block

Suggestion Denied
Hi @muchimuncher96,

Thanks for taking the time to make a server suggestion.

The Content Team has chosen to deny your suggestion because this could bring imbalances that we do not want. The current D-Class Type Blue timer is fine as it is and does not require change.

Your suggestion will now be locked and marked as denied.
