What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Remove, or reduce the new delay when picking up placed deployable shields.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not at time of writing, from what I can see.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
-Placement of Deployable shields has always been finnicky, getting the shield in the right spot often takes several attempts, which can be frustrating on it's own, and the new delay magnifies that frustration immensely.
-Shields can be placed accidentally, either blocking door or hallways or trapping players unknowingly. Removing or reducing the delay would help fix accidental placements while greatly reducing the risk of unfair deaths or delays caused by accidental placement.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
-Ability to block more damage than intended by spamming the placed shield (Given that shields can be destroyed now, this seems like a flimsy argument.)
- "You can't pick up a bulletproof shield and put it in your pocket in an instant, that's unrealistic!" (Still grasping at straws here.)
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
The deployable shield worked just fine without the delay, and, in addition to being a useful combative device, also saw utility in getting vehicles unstuck (Perhaps this is "unrealistic" or breaks the illusion of gameplay, but so does the vehicle magically righting itself as well.) The new pick up delay is painfully slow, especially for how quickly combat encounters can change, and discourages use of the shield at all.
