Lore:

Dr. Jonathan Crane was a Doctor and Scientist of great renown and reputation, a man whose ambition soared to conquer one of the greatest enemies of mankind. Not death, not quite, but fear. Humans feared a great many things, and each human was different. Jonathan thought himself a saviour of humankind, an apex predator that would one day eradicate fear. His theory was that *fear* was an evolutionary mistake, one that had grown and nurtured itself into the human brain, almost like a parasite, and fed on it's host until death. Over the years, Jonathan made progress and setbacks, with the Foundation itself keeping tabs on his research, should he actually manage to complete his research. Unfortunately for Doctor Jonathan, he strove too close to the sun. It is still debated among the researchers this day, whether it was an intentional attack or pure coincidence, but none could dispute the grimness of the tale.

Dr. Jonathan was home, located in [REDACTED] the date being [REDACTED]. He had began to slumber, like any other night, though this sleep would forever change him. An instance of SCP-932, classified as Night Feeder, had marked the Doctor for it's feed. Similar in previous cases, we theorise that SCP-932 awaited for it's victim to sleep and enter the REM state before it's attack was launched, the pheromone that awakens it's victim yet paralyses them was secreted. Dr. Jonathan Crane, the man who was meant to conquer fear had unknowingly become the target of an entity that preyed on it's victim's fear. Researcher Crane seldom speaks of his experience, but it is known that the amount of fear he produced was almost double that of a normal victim of 932. Furthermore, 932 seemed to feed far longer from Dr. Crane, his skin becoming wispy and leathery, forever scarring his skin tissue.

By the time Emergency Services were upon the scene, the Doctor was almost dead. He spoke feverishly of the monsters and what they had shown him, and after thorough questioning, witnesses were provided with memetic agents. Dr. Crane was unconscious for some few weeks, though upon his recovery he needed to be attached to tubes to breathe correctly. During this time, Sr. Researcher [REDACTED] proposed that they bring Jonathan Crane into the fold as a Jr. Researcher to continue his research, if he accepted. Otherwise, he was to be also treated with a memetic agent. The Foundation would also assist in his recovery as part of his employment at Site 65. The Doctor, now Jr. Researcher Crane, accepted this.

The Foundation gave their new researcher a suit that would help him function and keep his vitals normal while retaining some of his mobility. Overtime, Researcher Crane modified his suit, employing tubes that helped him breathe alongside a rebreather which helped purify air. On his right hand were syringes that were installed to help him take samples from the various D-Class in tests. Jonathan's main goal in the Foundation as of the moment is to study fear in all it's forms, especially in this new world of anomalies which he found himself in.
