Foreword: Guys, I am practically an old fart and I make mistakes - I know that my initial application got denied in part to me advertising it in game. I was unaware that this was not allowed. However, I also realise that this is not an excuse. So – here is me applying a second time for the position of Medical Consultant.

Steam ID: 76561198033886271

Discord name:

For how long have you played on CG SCP: Since April of 2024 (so about 8 months)

Age: 38 (character age = 76)

In what country are you located?: UK and the Netherlands (varies)

Time zone: GMT / GMT +1

Character name(s): 'Specialist' Nick (usually Senior Doctor Specialist Nick)

Civilian name: 'Doctor' Richard

What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP UK

Do you have a mic?:
-Yes, a great one at that! It’s made of wood and chrome!

List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
-No whitelisted roles - dedicated to support roles - have been asked to become whitelisted for Medical Consultant - over level 85

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
-Negative, never!

Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?
-I almost purely RP support roles. Senior Doctor in particular. I have been requested multiple times by others to apply for the role of Consultant. It does seem a logical continuation of my current RP with "Doctor Nick". I would like the added responsibilities to carry my duties to a new level. I am especially excited about tutoring trainees, doctors and senior doctors.

What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
-I enjoy assisting other players as a doctor. I also regularly engage in RP such as surgery and psych-evaluations. A more formal leadership role on the medical team seems like the logical next step. I try to be very creative when it comes to RP. I do write up a lot of documents tied to the RP we’re doing in the Medical Department. I would like to expand on that and perhaps make more contributions with more lasting roleplaying consequences.

Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:

Casus #1:
-Patient arrives with symptons: coughing repeatedly with mucus excrement
-Symptons are documented, and patient is taken to the medical scanner if available (otherwise the handheld scanner is consulted)
-Symptons reveal the patient to have been infected with a "common cold"
-In this case: the diagnosed illness is treated at the pharmacy by a concuction of: Dextrome (1 part Deionized water + 1 part Duloxetine)
-Concoction is administered in a sanitised vial holding 100 mililiters of Dextrome
-Patient is charged for possible material costs and then released from medical care

Casus #2:
-Patient arrives with unusual limb positioning
-Patient is taken to the X-ray scanner
-Scans reveal 'reversed' injury picture
-Injury is diagnosed by doctor to be a fractured left leg
-Doctor acquires a calcium dosage from the proper facilities (i.e. the medical cabinet)
-Doctor instructs patient to take said dosage, and after no further symptons are present, releases patient from medical care

Casus #3:
-Patient is admitted with rare psycho / physiological / anomalous conditions
-Doctor nor second opinion succeeds at diagnosing the cause of immediate symptons
-Doctor presents syndrome to patient and explains that all medical options have been exhausted
-Doctor receives at minimum an oral contract from patient: permission to apply ECT
-Electro Convulsive Therapy is applied (ECT)
-Patient is released from medical care

What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
-Sanctioning medical procedures. Answering questions of potential patients AND medical staff. Ensuring that doctors properly attend to their duties. Oversee medical licence training.

-Combat Medic try-outs, RP-creation as a CL4, Psych evaluations on Senior Members of Staff.

Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
-Doctor 'Specialist' Nick is close to retirement age and probably has seen it all. Because of this he may come across a bit jaded at times, though after plenty of coffee (or perhaps other mild 'substances') he is known to diligently approach his patients and colleages with a smile.
He is dedicated to his duties and remains capable, but also quite stubborn and certainly not flawless. Ultimately his heart is in the right place and he remains loyal to the Foundation. His inventiveness at assisting Foundation personnel (i.e. "Program Milkman") can sometimes lead him to confrontations.

As someone who hangs around in medbay for various reasons I have 1st hand seen nick doing a good job, in my opinion medical has a few kinds of people, the combat ones who just play CM and assist with codes, the newer ones who don’t know what they should be doing and then finally the ones who are dedicated to medical roleplay be it by evals or when someone shows up sick actually interacting with them and creating an experience before healing them rather than infection tests and the shoving chems at the player, nick holds a good standard and makes coming to medbay an rp experience rather than a place to stop the coughing. For those reasons I have to leave him a +support and say that this guy should have the role.

Best of luck nick

The Senior Doctor with a breifcase...

+Support from me, though I believe that your activity levels vary (based on my own observations) you are someone who is dedicated to Medical RP. I see you always generating some sort of roleplay and actively taking initiative rather than being told what to do which is always good to see.

I think that Nick would be a good addition to the great Consultant roster that we already have on the server.

Good luck with your application!

Hey! Yes, my activity levels absolutely do vary. Sometimes I get busy with work and I won't be able to dedicate as much time in some weeks. I'm not on every day, but when I do reserve time to play, I'm usually on for many hours on end. I try to be on at least twice a week for multiple hours. Cheers!
